Prompt suggestion: Read a book that contains not even a mention of a middle- or high-schooler.

If you’re amenable @bungakushoujo, would it be okay if you added a link to the challenges list to the OP? I only ask because I’m going to quickly lose track of where I originally posted it. You can mark it as unofficial if needed!
Do you mean the modifications? No problem!
Prompt suggestion: Read something where the setting is a workplace (any occupation is ok)
Especially for those who add any challenge modifiers! 25 books at different levels anyone?
Prompt suggestion: Read a debut (an author’s first book, whether they’ve written more or not)
Prompt suggestion: read a book with a non human protagonist.
I’ve already got a book in mind for this one…
Prompt suggestion: Read a book chosen randomly from your 積読/TBR pile (eg by lucky draw or an online random choice generator)
Since each prompt suggestion has its own post, could we just take the top 16 suggestions based on the number of hearts?
This was also an idea I had but a lot of people award hearts just because they liked or appreciated the contribution, so they might not reflect the top choices… unless we have everyone go back and make sure their heart selection reflects “votes”
That’s been me for sure.
Could go back and ask everyone to “vote” that way though we are getting tons of suggestions so I think the final poll will be enormous! Not even sure what the maximum amount of options is, but we’ve surely exceeded it!
Instead of the idea with the likes (I hate removing likes to be honest), why not have one poll for each suggestion? One option only, either you vote it or you don’t. Everyone could be responsible for making the poll in their own suggestion posts if that helps?
It would look like this:
(only did the first 3 as an example, but I’m offering to do a poll for all, if you like)
It’s 20 for Discourse, so as of right now you’d need two polls max. Could do something like splitting the number of options in half, let everyone vote as many times as there are options, then picking the top 16 from the combined results of the two polls.
That will require everyone to go edit each suggestion they made but is also not impossible.
That’s what I had envisioned.
Do we just need some kind of poll about how to vote/take a poll?! Organizing stuff on discourse, it always leads back to the polls.
Kind of do like the look of this though!
What would be the the difference between doing each option as a separate poll vs. having everything in one poll data-gathering wise? Feels like the separate polls would just take up more space and that would be the only difference.
I agree, your idea is more efficient.
Ok it’s settled then, let’s stay with big multiple polls at the end and the original plan haha
