I couldn’t figure out how to re-roll my card to get “0 ratings/gradings/reviews” into the free space on the website, so as with everything else, I just made a spreadsheet instead
I was originally planning to use “0 ratings/gradings/reviews” as a challenge modifier for my whole card, but since it’s already its own space, and since a couple of the other spaces would be impossible to fill that way, I’m just going to assign bonus points to any books that are missing some category of engagement on Natively. I’d still like the majority of my filled squares to be on books with ?? levels, but I’ll depend on the allure of cultivating a starry bingo card to motivate me instead of forcing it.
Still finishing up my 2024 Bingo Card but planning to join for 2025 with some new adjustments. I’m planning my bingo to be manga-only this year to burn down my backlog.
Challenge Mode: Blackout Challenge Mode: From TBR Pile Only
I did swap a few ones that didn’t make it in the polls that I felt would be more interesting for me. For the “free” square I went with an “any book works”.
Looking forward to see if I can actually complete my bingo by only reading yuri ^.^
I copied the bingobaker screenshot into Powerpoint to make it just a bit nicer but I kept all the categories the same. As 2025 goes, I’ll add screenshots of covers.
Goal: do my best and see how many bingos I can get! I’m not expecting a blackout, although given in 2024 I managed to finish 18 (children’s) books and manga (🫨) I guess it’s not too far outside the realms of possibility depending on the difficulty of books I choose and how efficiently I cover the categories. But I won’t rush through books or anything just for bingo-ing.
Media: manga and books - short stories from December 2025
Regarding short stories - as in 2024, I think I’ll probably just allow shorts from December to fill in gaps for fun and exploration if needed.
Comparing some of the similar categories will be fun at the end, so I’ve arranged two rows with that in mind.
I’m changing the birthdate to my decade. I’ve already not read anything from before 2010, so I won’t be so specific about it.
For “free”, my goal is to read a light novel.
My other goal is to read my physical backlog. I need to get rid of 90% of my books by the end of 2025. This should help.

A bit late to the party, but I still made it before the new year!
I was a bit hesitant on whether to join or not, but I thought it would give me an excuse to read more as I have been slightly slacking off lately
I adjusted it to be with things I am more likely to read, and I took some inspiration from @taiyousea for some squares !
My goal for the new year is to get at least one Bingo but 一目十行 sounds really cool.
So far I’m not doing any challenge modes, but we’ll see how fast I make it through my card.
I might fudge birth year since I have something that was written the year after I was born that I want to read, but because my birthday is the day before the last day of the year, I don’t feel so bad about this.
the prompts for “book someone else thought you would like” and “Ask in the Seeking Recommendations Thread” seemed too similar to me, so I merged them into just “Recommended book”. instead I added “Untranslated book” from the tied prompts.
also like others, I’m using decade of birth instead of year
I’m in also!! I’ve swapped out a couple of prompts since I’m not one for checking whether a given book has any ratings (I know, I know, feel free to shame me in the townsquare ), so here is my card:
Happy 2025! I don’t know how many people here use Storygraph, but in case it’s useful to anyone, I’ve made all of the Bingo prompts into a Storygraph challenge.
Logging books in the challenge should allow other users to see a handy list of the books that have already been done for a given prompt, in case people need ideas (especially for the “Something from someone else’s card” square).
Oh good. I’ve been trying to fully move from Goodreads to Storygraph (it’s one of my resolutions this year actually), and this will give me a really good reason to keep logging in over there
I started my first bingo book 数学ガール 2. Actually I wanted to read it last year already, but a) I had not enough time, and b) I wanted to continue another book for too long that I had better stopped previously and therefore blocked myself from reading further novels. But that’s why the number of read manga became 81 in the end.
Edit: the guy who recommended the title to me and also already finished all six books , has a PDF text (188 pages) about how to read math formulas in Japanese. Actually it was made by some math prof to help Japanese students to read formulas in English, but you can of course also use it the other way round. He said the text is no longer available in the internet, but maybe there is an other way to give it to interested parties. Discourse does not allow upload of PDF files. Btw: the text has some careless errors and sadly no furigana.
Joined as VoidWinter over there~. I’ve only recently been trying it out, and have never used their challenges–do we add a book on the challenge page only after we’ve finished it for that square?
