Finally managed to get caught up after all the holidays!

So, yeah. About this volume…

Overall, I liked this volume and felt very sick reading about Mitsuki. That said, the elementary school connection between Subara and Mitsuki was so random and seemed unnecessary.

I know people have voiced their dislike for the lack of an overarching plot, but I would say there is an overarching plot, it’s just how Sei-chan and Subaru’s relationship develops. It’s not a particularly grand narrative from what we’ve seen thus far, but every volume has definitely done something that develops or reveals something about their relationship, even if it is rather small.

For me, this is not the end of the copy I use, but I tried to follow the page number when I read

It is a sad chapter but I like to think that it was thanks to evil Sei-chan that the girl was able to wake up <3

Btw i just noticed this manga came out 34 years ago

I liked this little storyline, I think. It has a nice melancholy air to it, and use of black and white in some panels was excellent, and Seikchirou’s hawk shikigami was really cool.

It was a touch forced, but I feel like that’s what you kind of get when these little stories don’t follow a strong main plot. Subaru need more backstory, and he was able to use his connection with Mitsuki to more effectively help her.

I guess reading the omnibus works against me here; the spread-out story feels even more thin when it’s one book you’re reading.
