Since there’s already a book club thread for it, I think it’s fine to remove it.
Unfortunately not, the used ones I have are all from amazon/ebay/secondhand book shops. Even new books seem difficult/expensive to buy from China… Sorry I can’t be more help!
Since there’s a sizeable Chinese learning community, I’d imagine there will be ways of getting what you want, but buying guides might be buried deep within forums or discord.
By the way, even if we read おかわり, I guess we should vote on the next pick soon-ish?
Edit: speaking of which, I was thinking (again) of nominating something but realized (again) that I already own more than half the nomination list and thus would not be able to vote for everything
Nakamura is a shy boy who falls in love at first sight with one of his classmates–his dreamy high school classmate, Hirose. But there’s a problem: they haven’t met yet. And Nakamura is a total klutz who might bungle things before they even begin!
Reason(s) for nominating: Read it in English and would love to reread in Japanese!!
(Didn’t read the sequel Motto Ganbare yet though in any language )
Edit;
Forgot about the waiting period lol
Will nominate the other thing or revive it when a week passes
I’m not good at “romance.” I’m not good at “love”, so I prefer to have sex only. Sei is a gay businessman, 36 years old. Recently, he met a younger guy named Ai on an app and he is crazy about him. At first, they were fine with just having a physical relationship, but … The long-awaited collection of four short stories!

Violence, sex scenes, knowing this author more f-ed up things will happen but don’t know specifically what since I didn’t read until the end yet
Reason(s) for nominating: I noticed a lot of the stories read here are on the “soft” side and wanted to try nominating something f-ed up
Plus I love Asada Nemui and am currently reading this newer release by her so I wanted to share the experience
I don’t even know if I’d totally agree with that. Any pre-2010s BL/yaoi work really wanted you to know that your two mains liked girls, a lot, but just when they saw each other they couldn’t stop themselves. They weren’t gay, they just had an uncontrollable attraction for this one guy (and maybe a few other guys who might show up if we need more drama in a few volumes ).
There’s an important distinction here, as banana fish is not about homosexual men, it has homosexual men as antagonists (heterosexual ones as well, but that’s besides the point). We have (as of volume 10) no info about the sexuality of the main characters.
Ah no I have no doubt about that, but since you were talking about it being marketed as shoujo I was kinda laughing about the genre at the time in general being marketed towards women (which I will give shoujo the credit it deserves on this since it has a tendency to bring up debated subjects to this day)
Edit2; the edit point was not as relevant as it was in my head thinking about it lol
I’m going to make an executive decision and say go ahead and nominate one more. We’ve got about half a week left before voting begins and plenty of open slots.
I feel like you could even abstract it further for the really early stuff: “shoujo, but about men who could be seen as homosexual”.
This is an excellent description of 2000s-era yaoi.
This is a bit off-topic from the general discussion, but I did want to chime in and say that it’s been very interesting reading from the BL history curriculum list. Thank goodness the class is like 20 semesters long. I really need to go back and pick up the next book; the 70s artystyle for the two I’ve read really spoke to me.
I really want to read some of those at some point. Hopefully I’ll remember it next time I impulsively buy ebooks instead of getting like 20 TL manga volumes
The next one on my list is ゲッシング・ゲーム | L24?? , which unfortunately doesn’t have a digital version. :\ I keep putting it on my to-buy list, wait several months, then forget why I have some random manga on my list and delete it…
I keep telling myself to go through and read from what I have and haven’t out of those lists and I keep forgetting to do that lol
I still need to build up more of the pre-omega mpreg list too
the combination between these 2 things is the real struggle
In the spring of their high school days, Yuiji Hasegawa suspects that his kind but quiet classmate, Yamato Yoshinaga, has feelings for his straight best friend, Kyousuke Hongou. Ending up in the same study group, he stumbles upon Yamato holding a sleeping Kyousuke’s hand, with embarrassment apparent on his face after being exposed.
Despite having qualms about Yamato’s homosexuality, Yuiji keeps what he saw a secret, thus marking the beginning of their friendship. The two boys’ experiences with love differ vastly, but their bond seems to grow as they try to understand each other. However, the question remains: could their relationship evolve into something more?

Reason(s) for nominating: Trying to read more of the manga I already have and I can make you all make me read through my tbr. There are only two volumes to the series (although MAL claims it’s not finished) so it’s not a big commitment if people want a spin off/continue reading.
