Pretty much half of the light novels nominated in and/or read by 初心者のライトノベル読書会 📚 Beginner's Light Novel Book Club L20-29 - NOW READING: 🐱 黒猫ニャンゴの冒険 ✨ are L26 or lower. I don’t see a reason to exclude those unless you really like the “children’s book” theming.
Well, I do like the children’s book theming
I like children’s books and they have different subject matters than easy LN’s which are aimed at older age groups, so I would feel less enthusiastic about running the club if it turned into the “easy LN club”
Fair enough. It’s your idea, I’m just trying to advise on what might get a bigger audience ![]()
Also: “L26 or less” doesn’t really sound like
though - more like the non-manga counterpart to the BBC in difficulty. The IBC is leagues above the BBC in difficulty.
Well, yes, but reading a novel is naturally much more difficult than reading a BBC manga, because of word density, so I’d still consider it a step up. Maybe if we need another step after that you could move the beginner LN club to WK ![]()
An important difference is that children’s books have full furigana or only use easy kanji, but light novels have no such restrictions.
I’ve gone ahead and made a thread on WK:
Maybe I’ll stop dragging my feet on making a wk account… But also, I think I’ve discovered I prefer reading at my own pace… ![]()
We would be happy to have you!
But reading at your own pace is fun too ![]()
You can always pop into the thread after you’ve read the sections and comment. Or save your comments for when the group catches up to you if you’re ahead.
