Continuing on our challenge to ourselves to boost our listening skills, the December challenge is ready for signups! Set whatever number of hours feels like a reasonable goal for you and feel free to share the things you’re listening to, your successes and setbacks. We’re in this together
All languages welcome!
This post will be a wiki so you can add and update your own hours.
Starting w/ 40 hr goal, but hoping for 60+ like I did in November. Anything that’s spoken audio (with or without accompanying text) counts. Anime eps are counted at 20 min per ep, unless I watched OP & ED. Sry for the dead comment above this… I just really wanted 3rd comment again
I haven’t been keeping a running tally of my time in November so I won’t know where I am until I run my spreadsheet through my python scripts at the end of the month. I had wanted to try and encourage myself to watch more YouTube and do more podcasts, but I think my goals for Nov have suppressed my listening a bit (or maybe I’m just dragging a little on all of my learning habits; nothing to worry about, but less than the past few months). I’m gonna commit to 30 hours, anything listening counts. I’ll just give myself a gold star on days I listen to non scripted TV
Unfortunately because of school, I have only been able to get a total of one episode of Precure on the board this week. However, I have been listening to people play Overcooked 2. No lookups, no creator/fan created subtitles :[ just passive listening. Here’s towaco playlist of Overcooked 2. As a big Overcooked 2 fan, I’ll have to say unfortunately their communication and idea of roles is extremely subpar :/. This week I finished the third video so that’s 25 + (23 + 21 + 22) = 91 minutes of listening.
Edit: I just witnessed one of the players struggle with placing uncooked fish on a plate. I am going to hollar so loud when they figure out that they need to send dishes in order for tips bonuses
