狼と香辛料 | L37 - ホロ and クラフト・ロレンス. I put her first as she is the boss of the pack. I like the interactions of the duo.
Guessing from the book covers (I only read the first three books as of now, and watched the two series i.e. the contents of two more) it takes 17 volumes until they are an actual pair. The remaining seven volumes they will be together, I guess.

I watched the original anime and really liked their dynamic! The LNs are a bit hard for me though, and I’m not sure I’m interested enough to read so many volumes.

You‘ll not have to read them in one go. The books have complete stories, no cliffhangers; well at least the first five, but I guess this will continue. So you can read them parallel to several other series, come back to the series when you are in the mood or stop it, without problem.

Arguably only the first 17 books should be in the series – Natively/Amazon has squished together the original series and the “Spring Log” follow-on series (which wasn’t published until five years after the series proper ended)…

Otoh the first Spring Log novel has the number 18 on its cover, so it’s not just Amazon who sees them as one series.

I recently watched a YouTube video where artists were drawing their favorite couples and one of theirs was Kikyo & Inuyasha. And hooboy, he and Kagome would be bad enough, but the two of them, no way

I mean pre-Naraku they were doing pretty well, esp considering the half-youkai x miko thing, and the times… So maybe that’s what they had in mind?

Yeah I mean before the events of the show, they were a nice couple. But I think they were talking about overall how they preferred Kikyo and Inuyasha…
I mean, I really like Kikyo as a character, but I could not see the two of them together

My all-time favorite story and couple comes from this manga series 
I love the school setting with the acting club and all involved characters.

Obviously Ito & Mako 
They are so cute together and the relationship is so healing (non-toxic). This couple may be a spoiler, because Mako, a boy, is dressing as a girl, and I don’t remember when this got uncovered.
Reading this in my teen years I was always dreaming of a boy like him
