I have this edition of the book (link) and so it’s what I pulled the page counts from. It’s possible if you are reading a different edition or an epub your page counts will differ.

I suspect some of the chapter titles are minor(?) spoilers but unfortunately they are not numbered. I tried not to break on anything that looked like that, but having not read the book I can’t know for sure.

Oh, I didn’t hear about this club starting, but I’ve been meaning to read this for awhile! I just finished a collection of other 明智小五郎 stories as well so perfect timing. I’ll have to find a copy and catch up soon :lizard:

No need to look too far: It’s on Aozora for free, and I expect it to be also available for free in the major reading apps - I can confirm that at least for BookWalker.

I thought I might be able to find a copy at the library, since it’s a well known author and series, but no luck sadly. I might have to start with the ebook for awhile. I usually like to read print though, and as a result I don’t have an e-reader, so just reading on my phone gets tiring… I’m sure I can get started like this at least though!

THE FINAL WEEK IS HERE :lizard: VS :male_detective: !!!

As a note, there is an upload of the 1960s movie adaptation available on Vimeo here. It unfortunately has hard English subs, but I couldn’t find it on any other streaming services I have access to.
I think it might be fun to do a group watch after finishing the book if there is interest - if that sounds fun to you drop me a private message and we’ll figure something out if time zones allow (will likely be on some discord server or another).
