The book is on the longer side - Kindle lists it as 536 pages, this will be a long one.
I’ve scaled PC Kindle to the scale of the page listing so we’d have this conversation in peace. Depending on your scale (or physical book font size) the amount of pages may differ.
I’d love to join, but I’ve been so bad with keeping up with book clubs (or even reading in general) this year that I really don’t think I can promise anything It sounds like a really fun book, though.
Same for me. I do hope to read it, but I don’t want to officially commit if that makes sense.. especially since I’m not sure I can keep up with a pace of 30+ pages a week (but I also don’t want to slow everyone down)

The pace is voted to be 35 pages. I’ll remind everyone already that it’s ok to go slower/catchup when you have time, etc.
I’ll be sure to mention on appropriate weeks when we hit chapter end to make it easier for the strongest of us that prefer to read chapter at a time.
I am mostly just a lurker in bookclubs but I do enjoy reading ppl’s thoughts, so if you get around to reading the book later, you are always welcome to leave your thoughts in the bookclub thread(s) even if it has been finished already.
Whoops, downloaded it as a pdf on Syosetu, sent it to my kindle using the email to kindle feature, opened it on the train after finishing my current chapter of No. 6 to start reading and the pdf was entirely blank other than page numbers Guess I’ll buy it to save myself the headache.
I’m so happy that Nia is not super pretty and girly looking! I hate that in most BL the uke is super beautiful and fragile, so I’m really happy that he seems to be a very average looking guy. Let’s hope it stays that way.

I’ve heard the ranks tend to vary a bit in importance depending on which country you’re looking at, and I’m not sure if generic JP sword and shield fantasy novels ever have one particular country in mind.
