That’s also the case in Japanese!
Random example at the top of my head:
Manga, Difficulty: Level 26 (Intermediate, ~JLPT N3)
Children's book, Difficulty: Level 28 (Upper Intermediate, ~JLPT N2)
【マンガ】本好きの下剋上~司書になるためには手段を選んでいられません~第一部 「本がないなら作ればいい! 」 1 | L26
I think in this case it is useful to disambiguate from the light novel though
Light novel, Difficulty: Level 30 (Upper Intermediate, ~JLPT N2)

But it’s already written in the box which one is which, so it’s redundant.
I guess it can be useful in the inline expansion, but that should be handled differently. Other series with both light novel and manga do not do that, so it’s inconsistent.
Examples not having problems:
Light novel, Difficulty: Level 38 (Advanced, ~JLPT N1)
Manga, Difficulty: Level 30 (Upper Intermediate, ~JLPT N2)
Manga, Difficulty: Level 29 (Upper Intermediate, ~JLPT N2)
