I was thinking of nominating Arknoah 1 僕のつくった怪物 | L30?? but apparently that’s not a LN?

Fwiw Arknoah - Wikipedia seems to think it is. Iirc the club policy has been “if it seems like a light novel…”, but eefara can confirm I guess

Go for it! The lines are so blurry between “LN” and “not an LN” that if you can make a case for it, I think it’s fine to accept it.

Summary - English

Earl and Gray, two bullied brothers, find a strange picture book in their father’s study, where he died in an accident, and wander into the other world of Ark Noah. It is a world in a picture book, a boxed garden surrounded by ceilings and walls, where there is no war or famine. They learn that they cannot return to their original world unless they defeat a terrifying monster that has appeared to destroy Ark Noah. …

Why are you nominating this book:
I have liked previous short stories by this author a lot, so I bought the first volume of this on a whim and want to know if it’s any good. It seems to have decent reviews.
Purely based on the cover (yes, I am judging a book by its cover :P) and the fact that it’s fantasy, I am assuming it fits the LN vibe.

Also, based on some amazon reviews, it doesn’t seem particularly difficult… probably closer to N3 level than N2…

小学生の子供が読みたいと購入しました。
子供は内容が面白く読みやすい作品だと言っていました。
子供から大人まで楽しめる本だと思います。

Summary - English

After being executed during a revolution, the selfish princess Mia of the Tearmoon Empire suddenly finds herself back in her 12-year-old body.
Determined to avoid her grim fate, she begins making changes to secure her own survival.
However, her self-serving actions are repeatedly misunderstood as acts of great wisdom and compassion, earning her an unexpected reputation as a saint.
A comedic time-loop story of misunderstanding, redemption, and second chances.

Content warnings if known

References to execution (guillotine) and political unrest/revolution.
Generally light in tone despite these elements.

Why are you nominating this book:
It has a really clear and engaging plot thanks to the time-loop setup, and the misunderstanding comedy makes it fun without being hard to follow. It seems like a good balance of lighthearted and plot-driven. Also, I enjoyed the anime.

And just a note on the top review by The_Southern_Cross. They said that it’s reincarnation, but it’s not, it’s regression. It’s not isekai.

It’s the first time I see regression used in that context, but it does match the dictionary definition. TIL

By the way, reincarnation in itself is unrelated to isekai. You can get isekai’d without reincarnation and you can reincarnate without changing world.

Oh, this is one of the TOブックス books that, like Honzuki, has a full-furigana edition.

Not yet on Natively, but looking at the samples for a minute, this is the one: https://www.amazon.co.jp/-/en/gp/product/B0BDYVXCP5?ref_=dbs_m_nmg_rwt_calw_tkin_0&storeType=ebooks

Thank you, yeah now that I think about it, that’s true lol. My brain doesn’t always work well as I operate on not enough sleep thanks to my toddler

In the case of this book she reverts back to her younger self in the same world.

What do you usually call regression themed books? That’s the term I heard in a Gigguk vid so it stuck.

Uhhh I hope I did but my short term memory is shit so I’ve added a feedback request in case I didn’t. 6 volumes are out at the moment.

I think it might be a Korean genre originally, but yeah, this is regression.

This one is also a regression~
It’s her 7th one, and she’s been using her lives very well~

I’m not sure they have a specific name, but tags to look out for are often “Time Loop”, “Time Travel” or “Second Chance”, depending on the site. It’s decently popular in the “Villainess” genre. (Although how much any of them are actually villainesses is another matter entirely  )

Also, calling @CatDQ since I know you own Arknoah, in case you’re interested in voting for it.

I might join in though may fall behind but I’ve voted for what I have. Arknoah looked pretty interesting though I’ve no idea what it’s like.
乙一’s short story book Zoo was half approachable when I started reading so if the language/ grammar is similar then it shouldn’t be too hard to read (vocab aside).
