If your skillset is different & you feel you can contribute in other ways, don’t hesitate to reach out!
What’s at Stake
Significant ownership in Natively, dependent on contribution
Help guide and shape the product roadmap
Contribute to Natively’s growth
We already have reached out to one interested party (JS expert) so we’re especially looking for a Python expert.
This is a really exciting opportunity to join one of the major new language learning websites. If you love coding, language learning and making a meaningful positive impact, check this out!
Let me know! Either a DM to me, a message reply here or an email to brandon@learnnatively.com.. any of those work
I wish I had dev experience to offer or other specific tech skills to contribute. I’d be happy to volunteer with other stuff eg moderating if you’re still looking for people.
Good luck finding devs! None of those languages are the ones I’m most familiar with, sadly, but hopefully it won’t take too much effort to find someone well versed in Python, common as it is.
@brandon I know you’ve mentioned that you might have already found a JS expert at hand, but I do have 5+ years of professional experience in React/Redux/TypeScript, 10+ hours a week and a little too much interest in Japanese language, if you’re still looking for somebody, let me know and I can break some demos to you ^^
plus, i already do have a programming project in JS that’s integrated against Natively, right now the backend is down, but you can test it out at will ^^
Hi.
I do have skills in the application stack but it’s not my forte. However I do a lot of AWS and automation for a living and if the infrastructure or CI/CD would benefit from being looked at (Cost optimization, Serveless, Infrastructure as Code.) I wouldn’t mind auditing and advising for free provided it is not time sensitive.
I have a CS degree and some experience in Python for small personal projects, but unfortunately, my only professional experience is in SQL. I’d be more than happy to assist as a volunteer/unpaid intern if you’d have me. Honestly, being able to give back to the site that has helped my language learning journey is enough in and of itself.
Oh wow, this is super cool to see! Truth betold I was considering reaching out last year to offer my services as volunteer work but assumed it would be in vain. My most recent work was using Python(fastAPI), React, and postgres; devops wasn’t my area of expertise but I’d be happy to pick up the slack if needed.
Hi Brandon. Let me just firstly state that I have no experience as a developer but I am really interested in the growth of natively. I have ideas! I sent you an email about a month or two ago talking about the same thing. I am an advanced Japanese learner that has been running a number of book clubs for the last 8 years and I think that I have some ideas that could really take your site to another level (also, I don’t want to create one if there is already such a good site! We need to unite!). Please let me know if there is a way we could have a chat! I have a lot of time on my hands if can help you (and me) in the long-run!
