Hello and welcome to our newest mystery pick!

The book is divided into 13 chapters, each of which is divided into roundabout 4 subchapters. As the book is only 225 pages altogether, I decided to focus on the main chapters as this probably gives better breaks from week to week.

Here is a possible schedule with a slow ramp-up:

Disclaimer: The page numbers are derived from the ebook and may be somewhat incorrect

Week Start Date Chapter Page Count
Week 1 Sept 2nd 一 to 二 30
Week 2 Sept 9th 三 to 四 35
Week 3 Sept 16th 五 to 八 53
Week 4 Sept 23rd 九 to 十一 57
Week 5 Sept 30th 十二 to 十三 47

Here is a possible schedule without ramp-up:

Week Start Date Chapter Page Count
Week 1 Sept 2nd 一 to 三 47
Week 2 Sept 9th 四 to 六 48
Week 3 Sept 16th 七 to 十 52
Week 4 Sept 23rd 十一 to 十三 75

Which schedule do you prefer?

  • 4 weeks (without ramp-up)
  • 5 weeks (with ramp-up)
  • I’d like to go slower than these
  • I’d like to go faster than these
  • I have a different idea altogether

For the “slower” / “faster” /“different” options, please explain your ideas

I own the paperback so if we get any other paperback joiners I can add the physical copy numbers (once a schedule is settled)

Thanks all for voting for the schedule! With a 100% success rate, 5 weeks is the clear winner. :tada: I’ve updated the main page accordingly.

@cat If you could tell me the start pages of the weeks (and the page number of the last page of the book) that would be great!

Hey all, I’ll be away and busy from tonight until next week, so I’m posting this thread a little bit early.

Happy reading everybody!

I was a bit confused by the chapters so I edited the format there to hopefully be more clear (to me ‘to’ means ‘not inclusive’). I also updated the page counts now that we have paperback numbers - they didn’t vary too much.

Thank you for the page numbers and the clarification! I always struggle with expressing ranges in a precise manner

I added your information to the OP and the Week 1 thread :+1:

I hope you’ve all settled in to the book at this point, because now we’ve reached cruising altitude, and this week brings us 60 pages

I’m definitely going to use it to speed through the rest of the book at 1.5x  I’ll keep to the weeks mostly, but will finish a smidge early due to not wanting to bring the book on my trip.
