We have been working very hard in the background to try to address all your bug reports and improvement suggestions (at least the large majority of them), and so it seems that the big release of the new dashboard might be approaching! Keep your eyes peeled early next week and see what’s happening
But before we make the release, we want to check back with all of you. Do you still see a bug in the data, or another issue? Please let us know!

@gillianfaith Are you still haunted by other people’s languages? I know Brandon improved the situation around this issue, but did it help you as well?
And last not least, we have one more question for all of you, because we are not really sure which is the best way, and so we figured we simply ask y’all and see what you think.
Here is the question: When you update one of your in-progress media in the new dashboard, this media will be moved to the very left of the row of items you have on your dashboard. (Except for the TV seasons, where we now wait until you finished spamming the “+” quick update icon, and only then move the season to the left.)
This is different from the old dashboard, where your media would stay in its position until you reload the dashboard. What do you think of this? Please help us along by clicking the poll and/or commenting below.
It seems a lot more resilient in general now, but the languages on other people’s profiles still persist after I leave that page. With the new dashboard, if I click on a user’s name in the activity feed, I’m at least taken to their profile in the same language that the dashboard is in, so just clicking into someone’s profile and away doesn’t change my site language anymore. But if I change the language of the user’s profile (which has 2 language selectors? both next to their username, and above the contents of each profile tab), it also changes the language of the header flag and follows me to the rest of the site until I change it again.
Hmmm, difficult to say that I personally dislike it, but I am very wary of things moving around. This is not Cumulative Layout Shift (which is the bane of my existence and might make me more negative towards any movement), but I am still not a big fan of having the most important interactive elements move around that are not specifically moved by the users themselves. I’ve always had bad results in usability tests with interactive elements moving and I wouldn’t dare implementing something like this. But I deal with a very general user base, so it could be that language learners (who seem to be often a bit more tech-y than the general population) are less prone to getting confused by things like this.
Also, in general, in here you only get opinions from power users who are passionate enough about the site that they also follow the developments of the new dashboard. There are also users (especially if you want to grow, which I suspect you do) who will visit the dashboard for the first time and who you want to stay with learnnatively in the future as well. So, a small suggestion from my side regarding the complete project, (if you haven’t done so already) try also testing with people who haven’t used the site at all (maybe friends or family, if you want to go pro I can really recommend testingtime), I think it will be very helpful as well.

I know it’s horrible and I hate it when people do that to me, but could you maybe delete the learnnatively.com cookies? (You would need to log in again though) My hope is that this would fix it

Oh that’s great to hear! And no worries! I think you did point me to a genuine problem in the code (which did not seem to have a big effect on the dashboard right now, but you never know when it starts to become a nuisance) so thank you as well!
The activity timeline with the new dashboard is a lot more robust than the old dashboard, so it’s honestly great (I did indeed finish that book 2 hours ago, not 8 hours ago). Also the fact that it remembers the filters is amazing.
I think I caught the release live haha, /spa/ right now looks down in the coolest way.
Question: is the scaling broken a bit on your side or on mine? The screen is not adjusted fully to my phone size (small scrolling bar is there, left to right)
