Yeah I’m in Canada too and I really wish they’d collect my customs payment up front. I noticed they started doing that for other countries, and with the US having to pay customs fees these days I’m hoping they eventually give us a way to prepay as well and avoid the handling fee from DHL..

Edit: I tried putting as 23 but it wouldn’t let me change it anyway :woman_shrugging:

2nd Tenso question: on the customs form, do you list sets as 1 item, or as number of items? One of my sets (23 volumes) is marked as 1, but the other (8 volumes) is marked at 8… And I’m not sure if there’s a reason for it/if it matters for package protection or customs purposes or something

Btw For anyone curious, this is how my Tenso order worked out:

Tenso order breakdown - consolidated vs not
Item Cost ECMS DHL
THIRDLESS (magazine) 1400 3073 6582
SAO Progressive 1-8 850 5190 8267
花ざかりの君たちへ 1-23 2000 7652 11721
Subtotal 4250 15915 26570
Non-consolidated totals 20165 30820
Consolidated rates 10893 16340
Consolidated Totals 15143 20590

ECMS: 14 days
DHL: 3-7 days

Tenso fees break down

Service Fee
国際配送料 7234/12,681円
転送手数料 2,200円
おまとめ梱包手数料 800円
補償サービス料 0円
関税 659円
割引額 0円

I went with ECMS since it’s ~$30 USD cheaper…

Even after filling out the package invoice in the first place, I had to fill it out again during checkout, including the product urls, one of which doesn’t actually exist anymore  … idrc having to do this with FromJapan, so I’d definitely use them instead of Tenso in the future.

product url…yikes… what if ones doesn’t exist when you are physically in japan shopping… hmmm

sounds like they may have changed some things… before my trip next year might need to make sure that the travel trick still works…

I guess you could link to the manufacturer or store/company’s general website or something - if you know it… Still seems like a problem waiting to happen

there used to be an option for a url but it wasn’t required…
but of course when I go to the site it’s offline for maintenance…

sometimes Japan…

trains, atms, daily websites…

Is anyone else having problems with Surugaya? When I tap on checkout it shows an empty error message

Currently Suruga-ya does not have free shipping. Therefore I‘d wait two days and then try again, anyway. (But I do not have this problem)

Thank you, yes I missed the free shipping campaign :sob: it works now though

Everyone: please @ me once they offer free shipping again

On Fridays there is never free shipping, just try again on Saturday.

Does anyone know how I can add Japanese eroge to my shopping cart on Amazon Japan? As you may know they just won’t show up anymore unless you’re in Japan, but the ones I already have on my to buy list, didn’t disappear and even after they started blocking access to them I bought one that was already in my shopping cart and it worked. Is there way to get them to show up again?

On Amazon.de some products are subject to age restrictions, probably on other Amazon shops as well.

So, you‘ll have to declare your age somewhere and probably also have to get it verified to be able to see age restricted contents freely again, I‘d guess.

Unfortunately Japanese Amazon in general blocked foreigners from viewing Eroge and I’d guess adult stuff in general

VPN. But that only works if you don’t have a non-Japanese address in your account.

Loot from AmazonJP:

Loot from Mercari/Rakuma:

And it came with a lot of first print goodies:

On a side note, it’s sad when the Mercari books arrive in better condition than the AmazonJP new books.

I love it when first print bonuses are included!

They are like new, without marks or coloring or smells, include first print bonus, are beautiful protective plastic cover wrapped, and cost me around half what AmazonJP would have been

Mercari sometimes is a treasure trove.

I never realized this, but apparently not all Vinted platforms in the different countries are connected with each other. Austria and Germany now apparently are, so if you are in Germany or Austria, I already saw some Japanese Manga and Books turn up on both Vinteds.

All connections between countries, if you are interested (still missing the Germany - Austria connection)
