The book weโre about to start, Home Thread for ์๋ฆฌ๋ฅผ ๋ณด๋ ์๋ ๐๐ Korean Fiction Book Club ๐ฐ๐ท Starting Nov 13, is probably around the early 20s Iโd say (it has a temporary rating because it hasnโt been graded yet). Iโm reading a bit ahead so I can fill out the reference sheet with vocabulary and grammar (link in thread), and there are others willing to help if you have questions.
I wouldnโt mind reading along with something easier at the same time if you already have a book in mind, though.
Oh right, I hadnโt thought about that. I might try to join you then, but Iโll see if I have enough time. From what I can tell though it does seem like thereโs a lot of vocab I donโt know in that book, and not just the vocab in @bibliothecary 's Google doc.
Iโm already reading ์ถํฅ์ right now as well, which is also above my level, so reading two books that are too advanced for me at the same time might not be a good idea.
I like the ๋ค๋ฝ์ series, so Iโd be interested in reading their B1 book, ํฅ๋ถ์ . But Iโm really open to anything, so feel free to share any of your ideas as well.
Iโd be happy to read along with that too. If you wanted, you could set up an โinformalโ book club for that one if you donโt want to set up the intermediate/beginner book club right away. There are some informal clubs on the Japanese forum and usually everyone just reads at their own pace without scheduling and posts their thoughts with spoiler tags. That way you can get some reading buddies for that!
Iโm very happy to have found a forum with active Korean book clubs, but unfortunately my current level wonโt allow me to join any of the ones Iโve seen here.
Would anybody be interested in an Absolute Beginner Book Club? I was thinking levels 15 and under, but we could adjust that depending on peopleโs interest.

It could be an informal book club, since I am probably going to be reading a book under lvl 15 regardless, and would be happy to share the reading with anyone willing to join (even with a different book).

Letโs give it a week and see how things are looking on Monday. If we have more people interested we can start nominations on a separate thread, and start reading maybe from Oct 20th? 1 week to make nominations, 1 week to vote, and 1 week to get the book?

Youโve got all the basic points down, no worries! Thatโs pretty much all what the rest of us are doing: some time to nominate, some time to vote, and then a bit of time to acquire the book. Set up a schedule appropriate for the club participants, and youโre good to go.
iโve only recently joined by first book club, so weโre both new to it! thereโs no set rules for how set everything up as far as i know, so we can make stuff up and change stuff along the way as needed. iโm looking forward to it as well

It would be fun to start up some informal book clubs (no schedule, read at your own pace and post as you go with spoiler tags) for Korean.

Due to limited interest, and also due to the fact that I bought more unrelated books, and have been in a reading slump anyway, Iโll postpone that bookclub idea.
