Ohhh this is a great idea
… When they build this they need to keep in mind books that are single vols that end up later becoming series will need to be handled accordingly.

I know there’s slowness on the site today - investigating!
Edit: put the site into maintenance mode temporarily.
Edit: ok identified the issue and deploying code. Turned off maintenance mode.. even though the code hasn’t reached live yet.. think it will be fine in interim.

Unfortunately, it seems like bots are hitting us pretty hard right now.. distributed across our pages, ~3 requests per ip, hitting various urls. May see intermittent performance, attempting to fix!

If you don’t want to foot the bill for cloudflare for bad bots, some sites use this for bots that don’t follow rules:

We do use crowdsec but it’s the free version and the number of ips is limited. It does learn but this attack/crawl is pretty darn distributed. I’ll take a look though, thanks!

Edit: Ok, I’ve manually blocked a vpn datacenter that seemed to be causing all the bad requests and it seems like we’re back! May have to look more into our bot detection.. like using the free version of cloudflare

I’m still coming across a lot of weird behavior when searching for books by series
Here, the first book is in a series, that fits. Except the other two appear as standalones despite being in series, which do show up when I click on each book.

I think this is expected behavior? When doing a search with filters if only the volume matches and not the series then only the volume shows up.. even if you specify ‘series results’ as your preference.
In this case, “vampire” appears in those volumes individual blurbs but not the series

I’m getting this too, and book pages aren’t showing the graph of my reading speed or my progress through books either

That’s because the site is, for some reason, using local dev environment URL for the query (I think) fetching those data
There are also an error in the console but forum won’t let me attach second image and first one should be enough, I think, anyway
