As you can clean from the covers, it is a bit spicy and NSFW. Kind of bdsm aligned ecchi featuring magical girls and villainesses. There does seem to be an overarching plot, but it’s not the main focus. I read the first 5 volumes on kindle unlimited a bit ago and decided to go all in with this sale. I enjoyed the spice and the humor and irony. That said, if you’re bothered by the idea of underage girls (I don’t remember if they’re supposed to be in middle or highschool, that sort of detail doesn’t like to stay in my memory 
) being depicted in risque situations, this should be a hard pass.

I have a bit of a fear of this radical sales, specially being recently aired on TV and the last volume is not even 3 months old and is more than half off.
Let’s just hope I’m wrong.

Mmm, tempted on Konosuba… I just started the anime, and kinda enjoying it. I’ve heard the manga isn’t such a great adaptation though. Has anyone read it? (I don’t think I’m likely to read the LNs either way)
The LNs are top-tier. I stopped around vol 7 or 8 I think because I swapped from reading LNs in English to Japanese.
In retrospective I think I should back then have done a mix of English and Japanese, because my TBR pile is starting to look scary.

I decided to buy the discounted volumes, since it’s a good level, and would be good vocab reinforcement. I’m really skeptical that I would be into it as a LN, but feel free to try to convince me otherwise. (Fwiw the only LNs I’ve read that I’d consider top-tier are SAO and Log Horizon (and if we include VNs, Fate/Stay Night), which are very different than Konosuba)

There’s a promotion going on for the completion of 宝石の国 where all chapters (minus the last one coming out on the 25th) are free to read online until 4/29.
