Yeah they have sales all the time. Except for series I closely follow, I typically only buy stuff on sale for that reason.

I always prefer the smaller sizes for ebooks as I find them easier to navigate. Plus you get the good feeling of 100% more often.

I went for the collections since they are less expensive than the individual volumes but it does seem like a small price to pay for easier navigation (esp with the sale)!

My wishlist on Amazon is at least 100 books long. Most of it I won’t buy for more than ¥250. Some of it I’m hoping for a less than ¥100 price. Occasionally you get super lucky and things will be ¥0-20. I usually don’t say no that cheap.

Ugggh 22 volumes… They’re fast reads of course, but still. I’m reading the chapters in YH every month, but only half a clue who’s who, and what’s going on lol so at some point I need to read the earlier ones…

You could always watch some of the anime to familiarize yourself with the characters if you want.

Yeah it’s just first volumes for the others as well. So that’s actually the best deal 
And you’re probably right that it’s because of the magazine, although getting people onboarded to just the first volume isn’t going to help much with some of the longer series

ビブリア古書堂の事件手帖 light novel series for 55% off, whole series at ¥2200.
I’m not exactly sure what this other ビブリア古書堂の事件手帖 ～扉子と不思議な客人たち～ series is, but the sale seems to cover the first three books.

I’m reading the sequel series (book 4 is in my TBR), and personally I thought the original series was really good, and well paced in the sense that the series arc felt like it knew where it was going rather than being “keep doing stories with the same characters until sales figures drop off” (which is a trap I think some LN series fall into). The sequel series, on the other hand, seems more “if you really liked the original and still want more, here’s more”. I’m enjoying it, but it isn’t on my “recommend this to people” list in the way the original is. (This is also partly that the narrative structure[*] the author uses in the last story of the first volume of the sequel series is one I have a personal aversion to, so it left a bit of a bad aftertaste. It’s just a one off for that story that happened to intersect with a dislike of mine, but there you go.)
[*] It’s the “viewpoint character does a bad thing at the start of the story and then the whole story is walking through the consequences of that action playing out, which we know will not end well” structure. I really don’t like reading those.

魔法少女事変 | L26 is on sale on Amazon, but I’m not sure whether to get it. @Naphthalene, since you’ve read it, is there a non-spoiler explanation for why the third volume wasn’t as good as the first two? And does it have some kind of conclusive ending or did it feel more like it got canceled?

It feels like it got cancelled and the author just scrambling to get some semblance of conclusion. It was extremely frustrating. Plus, bonus stories at the end show a taste of what the author originally planned and it made me extra sad.
