My budget for any hobby related purchases is $100 per month, or $1,200 per year. Japanese is my biggest hobby so I pretty much only spend that money on books and can generally get what I want when I want (it helps that Japanese books are quite affordable), but I did buy some other random stuff lately which depleted the budget. 
I only have $40 left for the year so I’m pretty sure I’ll end up going over….

Oh, I definitely haven’t spent $1200 on Japanese books this year and don’t buy anything else Japanese related. Granted, it’s annoying to keep track of digital purchases on Amazon, but I doubt I spent anywhere near enough to hit $1200 total.

Sounds familiar… haha. Though I have gone a bit above my normal budget as of late and I got a bit more than that (and hate having to wait 2-3 weeks for arrival) but I got plenty of new books at least.

I use a software called YNAB (You Need A Budget) that just auto-imports from banks/credit cards. The only thing I get from Amazon JP is digital books (I’ve ordered physical once), and it just shows up as some variant of Amazon Downloads, and has its own sub-category in my budget sheet. It even gives me fancy charts/graphs if I want.
Currently my physical books is about 3x as much as my digital books, and the total amount is more than double last year 
That’s mainly b/c I only started ordering physical books towards the end of last year (October I think?)

I don’t have a budget (I do keep an eye on my account but I am naturally stingy [growing up poor has its perks], so I am not prone to splurging.)
But the only real luxury I have is travelling and since vacation is limited, I don’t really have to be careful with budget there either. Which means, I splurge on my yearly Japan trip and then I pick up books there for cheap(er). 
Digital stuff I only ever buy on sale or with points.

Bookwalker is having a 40% coinback sale for Square Enix works until 11/26, including the manga 薬屋のひとりごと 1 | L31 . I was excited when I got the email because I thought it would be the light novels, but oh well. Trying not to buy more things until I work through more of my TBR anyway… blasting through audiobooks is fun and all, but since I have a 読み放題 subscription with audiobook.jp they don’t really help with my 積読 problem

DLsite has a series of yuri audio works/ASMR about 1-1.25 hrs long, by Sukera Sparo that are 20% off, until the 28th.
They seem pretty smutty, or at the very least, suggestive, based on random samples. Not sure it’s my cup of tea, but thought I’d post it, in case it’s useful listening comprehension, or otherwise of interest.

The only time I heard of DLsite, it was described to me as err for adult men. You know. (Except if I remembered incorrectly)
Trying to go to the web page in an incognito tab, it immediately asked me if I was 18+, so I guess it that one
Edit: ah, but that’s because I directly went to the “乙女向け” part, which is their word for TL. (So not just guys, then)
There’s one category that does not need to say that you are 18+

I was gonna say, I didn’t get that warning. Also DLsite has all sorts of stuff - manga, games, ASMR, etc, and not all is not erotica. Like I got 空の軌跡 games off there for instance. But to be fair if you’re looking for ecchi content, they definitely have a lot to offer.
Also will keep in mind that 乙女向け == TL. Don’t think I’ve seen that before

Isn’t virgin 処女? しょじょ as opposed to 乙女 being either おとめ or しょうじょ? Or am I just missing an implication of 乙女？ Like I wasn’t under the impression that 乙女ゲーム for example implies virgin, correct me if I’m wrong?

That’s the more biological way of saying so. 乙女 focuses more on the “purity” aspect.
They are synonymes though. My dictionary gives “乙女” as part of its first definition of 処女, and “処女” as second definition for 乙女
No, in that case, it’s more the general “pure” aspect. That being said, here, a “pure” person wouldn’t be reading 18+ material, so you are left with the other meaning.

There is also the phrase 乙女心
It’s kind of like saying maiden…it feels pure and innocent, so it’s kind of a bit funny to call TL 乙女向け

I don’t really agree that you’d have to jump to “virgin” from that, since it also has the age-related synonyms, but I can’t say it’s a word I’ve encountered much in the wild. So maybe it’s a “between the lines” thing that I’m missing
When I Google it, it just seems to be a synonym for 女性 or 女オタク, tho a HiNative answer I found says it means 若い女性向… Which I guess you could equate with virgin (idk how young 若い equates to)
I guess it depends how irreverent you’re being (maybe the pure and innocent aren’t so pure and innocent) but yeah, it is kinda odd/funny

Fun fact, my comment came from that, as it made the song “like a virgin” pop in my head.
I mean, I was purposefully picking the wrong meaning to make a joke, but now that I think about it, you can also use “virgin” to express purity in English, like virgin snow, or virgin olive oil.
Hopefully 18+ in this scenario
