Sale and Promotion hunting

You can not buy it without the sales taxes in digital form, AFAIK, at least on Amazon, since they technically don’t allow overseas purchases.

Still a very good deal.

I see… that’s too bad :disappointed:
On bookwalker it’s automatically without taxes depending on ip (if you’re using a Japan VPN it will add the taxes)

Honto’s got a 25% off coupon on Kadokawa ebooks that I was able to use today. You have to go into your coupons page and clip it first before you can use it.

Honto is offering all 55 volumes of Golgo 13 as time-limited free reading until the 18th, which is to say you lose access after the 18th and I sincerely doubt anyone will read all 55 by then, but you might finish some of them and hey, free reading material!

I remember reading the first chapter for free somewhere and it was really cute, the first and second volumes are currently free!

Does Bookwalker pretty regularly do 0Y books? I think I’m pretty tied to Amazon right now for my purchases but if I can just grab every 0Y book that comes along on Bookwalker maybe I should figure out how to make an account.

Yeah, constantly. For an account, I just created an account & login via Google (Bookwalker offers login via a number of services), but you can always make a standard account.

yes, some on the regular and some for a limited time due to new anime or new volumes etc

I honestly add a lot of things I want to try to the wishlist and check it periodically by 価格順 for the cheapest things, I got some things for free that way, some for 10 yen even, it’s not super often but it happens regularly enough during the year I’ve been using it

making an account is free and like any other site, you can link to another account or just create one by email (I did the latter)
just make sure you’re buying from the Japanese site and not the global one since the latter is only things in English

edit: btw I sometimes find things for free or very cheap for the same reasons on cmoa, but free wise a lot less then in bookwalker, discount wise they’re about the same

What’s cmoa?

it’s an e-book site, like bookwalker, only I think they’re independent from any publishing company?
they’re good for limited time free readings, they have a ton of that constantly
that and things you can’t find on bookwalker

Oh cool… There seems to be something wrong with their site rn. It gets stuck when I try to load it with Chrome, and when I try to use Firefox, it insists I use Chrome (at least on my phone), and nothing works. I’ll have to come back later I guess

Looks like they have a 70% off coupon for new users!

It loads fine for me on Chrome, maybe try clearing cache/cookies?

Also having issues when I try it on a different Chromium browser on my phone. So it’s not a cookies/cache issue. I’ll just try it on desktop in a bit. Thx tho

Got it to work… I don’t like the whole 円 to points conversion thing, personally. What do you get when you buy it? Do you have to read the book through the website, or do you get some sort of epub or pdf?

Their trial reader works well, but doesn’t let you select text afaik. Can you select text after purchasing something?
