Those are on audible too though, I think, but it’s a good option for ppl who can’t sub to audible.

Also, it’s great if you really want to own the books. Audiobook.jp let’s you download drm-free files.
Btw, is there a limit how many books you can listen to on audible or how does it work? You get like 1 free credit per month or something if I recall correctly?

audible japan (!) currently is on the 聞き放題 plan, so you get unlimited listening. Other regions used to have this, too, but then switched to 1 credit per month. Japan used to have 1 credit per month but switched to the flat fee. You can, theoretically, download audible files, but you are not supposed to and you need 3rd party apps. The audible app works extremely well, though, imo. I have no need to sideload anything.
(a few books are not in the 聞き放題 but so far everything I wanted to listen to, was.)

Also, I have seen some books (I think on of the most recent 本好き audiobook?) switch from paid to 聴き放題, so there’s literally no reason to buy

They switch to 聞き放題 on release. For some reason, you can “preorder” them before, but on release they get added to the 聞き放題.
But for example, クララとお日さま is on audible but not included and never has been.

Metric buttload of free manga on Amazon until the 24th I think. Is most of it smut and/or webtoons? Yes. Is it free? Also yes.

I actually think there might be a fair amount of <100y manga on amazon as well atm, I’ll go through it later if I have the time. This seems to happen fairly often though (I really wish you could modify search results to be like ‘show me the series page’ or a collapsed version of stuff in a series instead of clogging up the entire page with the first 10 volumes of a webtoon or whatever, but that’s neither here nor there)

the first 2 volumes of the 幼女戦記 books (the novel, not the manga) are currently on sale for 99 yen (a.k.a 90 since it’s without taxes outside Japan) on both cmoa and bookwalker (not sure about other platforms, worth a look into yours)
