Ugh, these Korean learners will stop at nothing to grow their ranks! Who knows what they’re plotting in the shadows?
Well, yous have twisted my arm. I’m in.
I can already start learning Hangul and some basic vocab though some apps I have so looks like Korean is next on my to learn list (sorry Spanish, you’re on the back burner again ).
I’m not even finished my Japanese “books to buy” list backlog and I’ve already decided to start adding Korean books now. Gonna need a loft conversion so I can fit more bookcases for all these books
Any dragon recs, anyone?
No, not more of us! If more people start making the move to Korean it will normalize it and I’ll feel justified in learning it.
Which reminds me, I need to do my hangul anki cards today
I’ve been studying Korean off and on for about a year now, but I haven’t gotten far. I should probably get in some Korean studying before I go to bed. Thanks for the reminder, everyone!
Well, 토끼전 The Story of the Rabbit | L11 is a folktale that features a dragon king in his underwater dragon palace. The version I linked is an A1 graded reader, so, you know, it’s the perfect place to start reading long form content. It’s from the Darakwon series that I was showing off above that I just got the final volumes of.
Awesome, thanks It sounds a bit like 浦島太郎 (The Story of Urashima Taro) which is one of my favourite Japanese folktales.
I just arrived in Korea and I went straight to Kyobo Books!
I’ve already read and loved 세계를 건너 너에게 갈게, but I’m excited to read 비가 오면 열리는 상점 and 오늘의 아이돌. It’ll probably take a while for me to improve enough to fully appreciate them though.
My order of books finally arrived! I’ve already started 나는 실수로 투명인간을 죽였다 | L32, and particularly for a book I picked on a whim because of the title, this is turning out great.
I’m also happy to finally have 죽이고 싶은 아이 | L25 and it’s sequel, 죽이고 싶은 아이 2 | L26.
