reflexiones generales
en vez de un diario, aquí van mis reflexiones sin orden ni lógica:
Esta semana leí bastante, y lo disfruté mucho.
Me puse al día del Absolute Beginner Book Club, y como mencioné en el hilo del book club, lo que más me está costando es el lenguaje formal. Noto que me falta vocabulario, más que gramática. Estoy apuntando las palabras que no conozco en la hoja de vocabulario, a lo mejor lo pasaré a Memrise cuando acabe el libro para ir repasando / reforzando, pero por ahora no quiero dedicarle tanto tiempo y esfuerzo, me interesa más leer la historia.
I read a lot this past week, and thoroughly enjoyed it.
I finished the assigned reading for the Absolute Beginner Book Club, and like i mentioned in the book club thread, the thing i’m finding most difficult is the formal speech. I’m missing more vocab than grammar. I’m writing down the words I don’t know in the vocab sheet, maybe i’ll import it to memrise when i’m done with the book to review / reinforce, but for now i’m not interested in spending so much time and effort on it. I just want to read the story.
También estoy en medio de un proyecto que llamé “adios 2024”: mi resolución para este año era vaciar mi vida: vender o donar cosas que se acumulan en mi casa, borrar emails y fotos que no necesito, y también acabar las to-do lists que tengo desde hace años. Unas de estas to-dos son pelis que quiero ver, y series y libros que he empezado y no he acabado aún. ¿Qué tiene que ver todo esto con coreano? Pues que una de las series, que había empezado hace por lo menos 2 años, es 타인은 지옥이다 S1 | L28??. Por fin vi los últimos 2 capítulos, y como me gustó tanto la serie y no quería que acabara (de ahí el esperar tanto para ver el final…) empecé a leer el 만화. Es genial.
I am also doing a challenge i called “adios 2024”: my new year resolution was to empty my life: sell or donate things that are taking up space in my house, deleting emails and photos i don’t need, and also checking off several to-do lists I’ve had for years. One of those to-do lists are movies i want to watch, and shows & books I started and never actually finished. What does that have to do with Korean? Well one of the series I started maybe 2 years ago is 타인은 지옥이다 S1 | L28??. I finally got around to watching the last 2 episodes, and because I liked it so much and didn’t want it to end (hence the 2 year delay to watch the finale), I started reading the 만화. It’s amazing.
Pensé que leer material nativo sería muy difícil (y lo es, por ejemplo con 난생처음 킥복싱 | L30??), pero estos 2 libros (요츠바랑! 1 | L11 & 타인은 지옥이다) son muy factibles, no es tan difícil como imaginaba, y las palabras que tengo que buscar no me distraen & no me impiden disfrutar de la historia.
Again, I thought reading native material would be so hard (and it is, like when i take on 난생처음 킥복싱 | L30??), but these 2 books (요츠바랑! 1 | L11 & 타인은 지옥이다) are very doable, not as hard as i thought, and the words i do have to look up are not that distracting & don’t keep me from enjoying the story.
all in all a very good week!! also I quit my job, can i get a wahoo!!!
