apologies in advance if anyone reads this, i realise after writing the post that i am slowly getting away from “a spanish only study log”. switching languages is much more comfortable & accurate to me, and i am having a hard time sticking to spanish. there are so many words that exist, sticking to only one set (one language) feel reductive, no? any thoughts?
anyhoo.
almost there! i’m enjoying the book, but also looking forward to finishing it and starting something else. i’ll get around to reading the other book by the same author though. around march maybe?
i’ll say this though, the acephobia that popped up in chapter 10 caught me off guard, but what can you do. there are only so many books i am able to read, can’t cherry pick yet.
EN
the review that HopeWaterfall left on the book is exactly what can be expected, and also exactly what i am looking for, so, perfect match! easy to read, easy enough grammar, daily vocab, food… what more can you ask for?
and then… the acephobia stuff.
my thought process behind starting yet another book was literally “why not”, so not much to say here. the book is currently level 25, so higher than what i usually read (though i suspect it’ll go down to maybe level 20?), the MC is retirement age or older (that’s bingo-related business), free to read on kakao, again, what more can you ask for?

i got an email from the bookshop today, the books have arrived!! i’m excited to get back to the story of course, but also to read a physical book. my eyes are tired of looking at a screen all day.
didn’t make much progress on this, it’s been on the sideline for a while. i tend to read it when i am looking for an easy read, that doesn’t require a lot of lookups - which is amazing to think about! if you had told me a few years ago that one day i would be reading books in korean that would seem easy, i mean!! exciting!
speaking of which…
tengo que reconocer que cada vez que veo la lista de los libros que estoy leyendo mis ojos pasan por encima de este, y lo ignoro. no es que no me guste, pero cuando lo estaba leyendo (hace un par de meses) me resultaba algo difícil, y tenía que buscar muchas palabras. maybe now would be a good time to go back to it? diría que mi nivel de lectura ha mejorado últimamente, volver a leer un cómic que me dio problemas sería una buena prueba.
EN
i’ll admit that every time i look at my “currently reading” list, my eyes go over that one and pretend they didn’t see it. not that i don’t like it, but when i was reading it (a couple of months ago) i found it a bit difficult, and had to do lots of lookups. but maybe now would be a good time to get back to it? i’m pretty sure my reading level has improved, going back to a previously challenging book would be a good test.
okay, not only is this no longer “spanish only” (was it ever?), but it also doesn’t look like a study log, more like a reading log.
and yet no one can stop me
