As far as I know, it has only the English script.
It doesn’t, just the localized version. If you want it on PC, you either need to get a secondhand copy of the physical software, or purchase the download version on DMM (will need VPN) afaict. Edit: or InnocentGrey/Noesis / FLOWERS - Le volume sur printemps -〈通常版〉
Note: the console version includes all 4 in one, whereas this is just Spring (which is what was nominated)
Oh…I assumed steam flowers (which I own) had the jp text as well. I don’t want to rebuy it so ı’m removing my vote for now.
I’m opting to vote for something else this go and hope next time I can afford the switch version of flowers.
I was probably gonna go with the playthrough vid for flowers, if it wins, for budget reasons, and cuz I still can’t decide which version to get
I should just buy the Switch one already
I have the Switch version of Flowers. Since it’s hard to texthook on a Switch, I have to look up everything manually. You’re much more advanced in Japanese than I am, but without texthooking, it’s way too hard for me. That’s also something to keep in mind for those who consider getting the Switch version of Flowers.
Mm, it’s not the easiest VN (jpdb deck here, and the other 3 games are on there as well). Even in the playthrough vid, the person streaming had to look up a number of words or kanji.
I don’t like text hooking personally, except to make custom jpdb decks for subsections of the game. So for PC I’d use YomiNinja (easy if no performance issues), or Google Lens (in which case there’s no difference).
For me the price is more relevant. The 4-in-1 Switch version is 7,300円 ($50 USD), whereas the download version, spring & autumn come out to 9,000円. Assuming the other 2 are the same, that’s 18k ($123 USD). So if I was going for PC, I’d rather just get the pretty (but hard to find) physicals. There’s a full set + drama cd on Mercari JP, for 1,899円 (Cdjapan proxy link), in case anyone wants to go for it. Otherwise, I’ve seen individual games on Suruga-ya before, but I think they’re out of stock rn.
Just a few days left to vote!
Today is July 27, you have until the end of the day to vote!
We have a winner! Our next VN will be Memories Off.
@earwen, will you organize the club?
If its not required of me I’d rather not I never have done it before and currently do not have the free time to figure it out
Those of you who voted for Memories Off, do any of you want to organize the club?
As routes go, this guide presents them in the following order:
- Yue
- Minami
- Kaoru
- Koyomi
- Shino
- Ayaka
I’m not sure if there’s any meaningful significance to the order, but we should just follow that
If it’s simple, I can. What I’d suggest: Home thread + 1 thread for each route, people read at their own pace, and post on the relevant thread, based on following the walkthrough choices. Whoever is watching the playthrough will have to figure out how that maps into the route order
If it’s that structure, I’m ok getting the threads set up, and I can paste the choice maps (under details folds) for each route in their respective threads. If it’s anything more complicated, then I’d rather not (specifically I don’t want to figure out a schedule, or run weekly threads)
Sounds good! Thank you!
No problem. I’ll get them set-up later, when I’m procrastinating at work
I guess home thread would also be for the common route? (ie the part of the game before branching off)
Do you think it makes sense to have a separate thread, or is home fine? If anyone has experience from how WK clubs do it, feel free to chime in.
Idk where the branching starts exactly, and didn’t find a flowchart when I looked
Personally, I’d recommend keeping the home thread only for meta discussion (talking about the club and the work you are reading in general) and to make separate threads using whatever classification makes sense for the particular medium (by week, by chapter, by route).
So yeah, I think it makes sense to have a separate thread for the common route.
Btw - I just noticed that MemoriesOff Historia (the version with multiple games in one) is really cheap on Switch: メモリーズオフ ヒストリア 上巻 | My Nintendo Store(マイニンテンドーストア) (and much more expensive on steam, though Memories Off alone is about $9 USD there)
Edit: there are 2 volumes, and both are 50% off
