I‘m wondering whether here are also Netflix viewers who watch Japanese movies or animes. I will have Netflix this month and would like to start watching.

They are not on Netflix Japan.

I was sure that anything that is Japanese in origin and available on my netflix would be available in Japan, too.

Nope. Netflix got the streaming rights to Ghibli worldwide, except in Japan and in the U.S.
