Any spoilers, for the current chapters must be behind spoilers or detail curtains. When we get further in you don’t need to hide details that were revealed in previous chapters.
Always mention where you are in the book when discussing, ideally by chapter so people reading different versions have a clear point of reference.
Feel free to read ahead if it’s exciting! But please refrain from spoiling ahead of the appropriate week
If you have a question about grammar, vocab, cultural things, etc - ask! That can be part of the discussion too and I’m sure some folks would be happy to help.
Even if you don’t read the chapter(s) in time, you are still encouraged to post in the thread for that reading once you have finished it. I advise not reading ahead in the threads as you may see spoilers.
(It says Oct 3 instead of 13 in the table in the OP :))
陣内家 is split on how to proceed from here… I’m not surprised, after all the one leading and uniting them is gone.
It looks like things will be picking up again from here one! Though I honestly don’t expect lots of action, haha. The rest of the book has been too same-y in tone for that.
I am curious to see how they will proceed now. I must say I get a bit confused with all the characters and names, and who is in which group. To be honest, I quite enjoyed seeing the eldest (Mariko) taking action - I wouldn’t mind if the story also focused on how the women/others will organise themselves to take care of the family matters from now on, but I know it won’t be the case since this is more of a shounen-ish book…
I’m pretty proud of Kenji in this section. He actually spoke up! The Kenji during the first night’s dinner or the first hanafuda game he watched would’ve thought about how he’s an outsider and that it’s not his place to say anything. But now he sees knowledge (about Love Machine’s creator) and talent (Kazuma) on his side and decided to speak “out of turn.” With some potential support as a result!
That happens to me all the time in this book! I flipped back to the family tree at the beginning of the book so many times for this week’s portion alone. For quite a few of them I keep forgetting the reading as well…
Oh yeah, agreed. It’s high time he developed at least a bit of a backbone imo! He seems to be quite the big brain and very kind as well, he could be a bit prouder of himself.
I’m just glad to see some action-taking here, haha. Until now, Sakae was the one spearheading all the action, so it’s good to see people aren’t totally lost now she’s gone.
