Summary - English

(DeepL) Magumel Deep Sea Aquarium is the only aquarium in the world located at a depth of 200 meters in Tokyo Bay. Here, visitors can closely observe the creatures that lurk in the deep sea. Kotaro Amagi, a part-time cleaner, is a young man who loves deep-sea creatures and is a bit withdrawn. One day, he meets Minato Osezaki, the curator of the museum, and his life is changed–and then. A heartwarming story of one young man’s growth and the fascination of deep-sea creatures living at the bottom of the ocean begins.

It’s a shame there’s seemingly been so little turnout for the 癒し系 club so far; I would’ve thought this would have been a shoe-in for a lot of people.

Who started this damn club?! I bought the f’n book! I will see this through to the end!

Haven’t heard of that one but I always assume they are too difficult or perverted.

I think it’s a really nice club. I enjoyed the first pick very much.
Personally I want to “blame” wk forums for my absence this time :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

  1. マグメル is nominated for BBC (and even though it has no chance to win anytime soon it’s much more likely to have an offshoot club there if I’d want to continue)
  2. Too many good clubs already. Last week two new clubs started with very strong picks. I wasn’t sure I’ll survive :sweat_smile:
    Anyway, I hope I’ll be able to participate next time!

That’s the bad thing with too many book clubs: too many good books to read! Hopefully the timing works out better in the future, though!

For what it’s worth, I’m sure @bibliothecary (or anyone else interested) would be fine setting up an offshoot club for マグメル! I know I’ll be reading volume 2, at least.

Yeah, I think I’ll do a poll near the end of every book club read that’s part of a series to see if there’s interest in an offshoot - if two or more people are interested, then it seems reasonable to set up an offshoot thread. :slightly_smiling_face:

I’m already 33% complete after 2 reading sessions. Unclear what direction the story is going to go.

Nothing immediately comes to mind; the only space manga I’m familiar with is 宇宙兄弟 | L28, though I don’t know if that’s what you’re looking for.
