It was nice to see the detailed visit to Anne’s house, unlike in the anime that is just brushed off as a few minutes thing. It was hilarious the detail of the iced dessert, she wanted it so bad
Also when she tells Anne to come along to the overseas school, thinking Mia is hesitating as is going to make Anne be apart from her family for quite a long time, only to be just worried to not have allies overseas, and have to confront the Guillotine culprit enemies there.
Enjoyed the part, there was a bit of things I didn’t understand, and as always the multiple voices of the audiobook, helped me not get lost in the text while reading along.
Found it a bit easier than Week 2 and also Week 1 (which I felt it was easier than Week 2).
Ludwig: we need money to supply the slums with food and to build/extend the medical institutions
Mia: Ok, will selling this kanzashi be enough to pay for that?
Ludwig and the maid: she’s a saint! Sacrificing things she likes for the poor people!
Reality: the revolutionary army stole it from Mia in the future and she’d rather get rid of it herself than let it happen again.
Ludwig used that kanzashi as a leverage to get donations from the nobles. What a useful guy. This is the only right way to go
Chapter 14
Emeralda Greenmoon’s hair color is emerald. It’s things like this that make me wonder about the author’s age
Ice-sweets is basically ice-cream before we had freezers, yes?
“Hey maid, you can have this and yes, do share with your sisters, actually let’s go to your house right now” is a nightmare scenario when you think about the class difference here lol.
Chapter 15
Those poor parents.
外面の良いミーアである。
/Wheezes/ I love the narrator
The amount of siblings is just enough for all of them to eat the sweets, but not enough for Mia. Nooooo, it’s the only thing she was thinking about this whole chapter
Chapter 16
Hello, Eris, I see you are a bookworm. …And she refused the cold dessert because of her health so Mia actually got to eat it!
Ann, this is how connections work. Good job (to future you) for getting a job for your weak sister
Chapter 17
Telling a writer the future plot of their work is not the best thing to do lmao
Refusing a perfect work proposition because you don’t like how you got it is a fool’s choice. But well, she is 12.
Chapter 18-19
The school life is coming up and seems like the enemy couple is gonna be there too. Weird to say that when they are objectively the good guys for the people.
I wonder if this is the kind of work in which the good girl from the past life is actually evil in this one. Or if Mia’s gonna casually steal her love interest.
Coming in blind is more fun that I expected (thanks to the humor in narration and the fact that Mia is funny)
I got the next 2 junior volumes (up to the end of vol 2) to make sure I finish the original story (the main plot, before the series got extended)
I’m not reading ahead actually! Those are digital pages. The first furigana book has 359 of them on my small Koreader powered kindle screen. I usually edit the pages to whatever my kindle says the book has because I can’t be bothered to convert them or work with percentages.
Yea same. I very often lose track of who is talking when reading Japanese books. The audiobook is a big blessing!
Still need to read chapter 19 for this week.
Opinion/thoughts on chapter 13-18 in random order
“Ha, they can’t steal my precious hairpin if I sell it first!”
I like how everything Mia does gets misunderstood as generous even though she does it for selfish reasons. But you know what. I’d rather that my politicians did the right things for the wrong reasons than the wrong things for the right reasons so it’s all good imo.
We get some antagonists setup in the form of Emeralda and those people in the school who’s names I forgot. Maybe the school antagonists will be nicer this time around considering Mia’s changes. And of course Emeralda has emerald coloured hair
The scenes with Eris were nice. Love how Mia accidently said too much. Imagine getting spoiled the ending of a story YOU are writing. Well, she doesn’t know the end but still.
Understandable, but even if Mia was just lifting her up because of her connection to Anne… this would give her a much better chance to become actually become a famous author. But I guess she’s just 12, so that might not be the first thing she thinks of, and “I want to succeed by my own efforts” certainly is admireable too.
天気が良いのもミーアのおかげだし、雨が降るのも、ミーアが農民を気遣ってのこと……。
I don’t know if that’s a Japanese proverb or something, but that’s an excellent description of Ludwig and Anne’s thinking, yeah

Color-coded for your convenience!
Hah. I had exactly the same thoughts.
I think I’m going to stop here. It’s not like I’m not enjoying myself at all, but for some reason I like it a fair bit less than the anime. I guess I’ll try out the manga instead to get my Tearmoon fix.
Totally valid, and definitely a healthier approach than I currently have towards my reading
I really liked your comments with quotes.
(I’m reading full-furigana version so it was nice to try and decipher the best parts without dictionary while the chapter was fresh in my mind haha)
I’ll check the anime out after finishing the main story then. To be safe
The anime reportedly adapts LN volume 1 + 2… and I’ve checked the end of manga volume 10, and it seems to correspond to the last episode of the anime. So around 5 manga volumes are 1 LN volume, and we’re only at manga volume 11.
There are 18 LN volumes. That would need around 90 manga volumes. There are around two coming out per year, so it would only take a mere 40 years until we’re at the current point of the LN
Okay, I guess I don’t have a good alternative after all and I’ll try a little bit harder to like the LN!
