This time it was a sad love story without happy end between several generations of men in a family and a mermaid, which may go on for ever. The mermaid would even continue it if in some generation a girl instead of a guy would be borne, as it seems.

But the guys in typical Japanese manner, see 甘え chapter in 日本人の心がわかる日本語, could not cope with the mermaid being overly nice to them without appropriate compensation from their side. Weird business like thinking, which means it wasn‘t love in the first place, I would say.

Nonetheless all in all I liked the story.
