A game developer being annoyed by the vague rules
Even if they don’t literally die, if they do metaphorically get eaten (re-reading the rules it’s not actually as clear as I thought it was…) they’d have no way to vote for the werewolf and win the game (=“everybody goes home”). The only two non-eaten participants would be the werewolf and the person who the room belongs to, and the next one-vs-one vote would end in all participants being eaten.
Although I guess the rules don’t include a FAQ section on what happens then. Which rule takes precedence when everybody is eliminated simultaneously?
- ルール④ 参加者が「狼」の正体を当てた場合、君たち全員が解放される。
- ルール⑥ 参加者全員が食べられた時点で、君たちの敗北となる。
I think if we assume the eaten kids don’t actually die and a kid is the actual werewolf, the easiest way to win the game would be to have the voted-out kid camp in the corridor and yell loudly which door opened. After next vote would be the last chance to do that, with the 1 eaten child pointing out the 1 werewolf, and 2 survivors being able to vote for said werewolf in the vote after.
It’s rather obliquely implied by this weird not-actually-a-rule:
ルール⑧ 20時10分以降、最多得票者以外の参加者は自室にいれば「狼」に襲われることはない。
(Does that mean I get eaten for literally no reason if I’m not in my room at that time? Does that also mean I can break the 禁止事項 and then go to my room and be protected? )
If the Count ever writes an actual rulebook I hope he has a good editor. The whole thing is full of holes and vagueness.
And maybe some beta testers that can point out that his game design is terrible
