Weeks 3 - 12 明日の世界で星は煌めく - Beginner's Light Novel Club

On mobile they’re at the very bottom of a book’s page. On desktop they’re on the left.

If you side scroll on the mini menu (where it says About, Stats, etc), it will have a link to tags

On top of what @暁のルナ said, tags are user generated (and sometimes imported from some-other-site-I-forgot). Depending on the popularity of an entry, you may get a bunch of accurate tags… or nothing.

Ah okay I must have skipped over the Yuri tag. All English tags and then Yuri that I keep forgetting the Japanese for. I always think of some Russian dude named Yuri. I would definitely have noticed if it said lesbians.

Fingers crossed this will be your cure, then. It’s fun so far, and the audiobook is definitely one of the better ones.

Thanks for the help. I just can’t help but laugh at how the tags are at the very bottom of the page on mobile and maybe the most important tag is romanized other language nuanced word after the other all english tags.

wrt tags

That’s gotta be quite an important guy to get his very own tag/genre

It was a design choice @brandon made, out of consideration for not wanting to spoil people on content.

The ordering is alphabetical (within major/moderate/minor tiers), so 仕方がないな〜. Anyway, I added the romance tag at 50% just now, even tho it’s technically redundant. So I guess that would make it clearer in the future

He’s a friend of Kansai Ben

Huh. But… it’s very prominent on the desktop site?

(And I’m very glad it is. I want to see the tags that aren’t marked as spoilers. But still, I’m wondering why they are treated differently.)

Yeah, the inconsistency never quite made sense to me, but… I guess on desktop, it’s not immediately in focus, and you can just not look to the left. Whereas on mobile, if you’re scrolling vertically, it will be right in the center, no matter what

But you already discussed the whole Yuri question in the first week and some people were kind enough to explain the whole thing to you

Yes thank you for the reminders! Touche. Very kind forum prowlers with a better memory than me.

I was scrambling to jump back into reading and joining clubs willy nilly. I was reading 2-3 female-led fantasyish books at the time among others so it definitely fell through the cracks. And between the zombies and penguin I forgot all about the whole yuri thing (plus which book it was regarding).

I have my sci-fi list gathered now thanks to people here too so I intend to be more selective going forward and will be looking at tags when clubs start new books. (But don’t hold me to it!)

That said, this book is totally new and novel for me so I am entertained.

Joking about that one tag

Guys. And they are very precious. Left and center guys are called Yuri; I can’t find an image without the third one because he is the love interest.

The second I saw this sentence, I knew exactly what this would be

I haven’t seen that anime in years. All I remember is that it was very, very gay. I wonder if there’s any figure skating 百合 (I assume yes)

Well, I haven’t read this week’s content, but I finished chapter 1 and caught up!
Edit: I am now done with this week as well.

Week 3

How much water was that?? I guess they aren’t very stable, but still, you would need an insane amount of water to wash away the zombies… Just thinking of how much water police sprays on groups of people to disperse them…

It’s kinda suspicious that 帆乃夏 is literally the only other survivor she meets in weeks.

That might have been answered by the text already, but considering that the father planned a lot ahead, she might be part of that plan as well…

Week 4

もちろん呼び捨てで

Of course.

Kinda funny that 由貴 is nervous about going home together with her, but it makes sense.

Re: the last sentence, that is an unexpected reunion, indeed.

Week 5 notes

私を見て笑う彼女は、黄昏時でも輝く一番星のように煌めいて見える。

The real stars that twinkle in tomorrow world… have been the friends we made along the way? :stuck_out_tongue:

「この子は使い魔のペラ。正式な名前はエンペラーっていうんですが、それだとあんまり可愛くないのでペラって呼んでます。お父さんが私を守るために用意してくれた──非常用のシェルターです」

Ah, yes. “This is my magical penguin. My father prepared it for me as an emergency shelter.”

I hope that answers all questions you could possibly have, Honoka.

week 5

I like how Honoka has a different perspective on Yuki than she has of herself. Lots of fiction doesn’t really have different beliefs and perspectives for its characters to such a degree. Looking forward to next week.

Week 5

Between the appearance of the house and the “magical barrier”, I would have honestly gone away. “Welp, it was great to see you again, I’ve got to go now”

I’m actually surprised that she said she doesn’t have other questions about magic. I would have a bazillion questions.
Now, presumably, I would wait until we are in a more comfortable place to ask them, but still.

Slowly catching up. Finished up week 3 today with hopes that I’ll get caught up by the beginning of week 7. :crossed_fingers: I’m kinda meh on the main book I’m reading right now so maybe it will even be sooner

Ope, done with week 4 😂

I didn’t clock that while reading, but now I’m gonna be angry if it’s not true. :joy:

I really like 穂乃夏! A little overly close and friendly (is that also going to be “bc she’s been in America?” or are we just supposed to assume it) but in a good way.

Based on her character, I was a little surprised that she didn’t ask for 由紀’s 連絡先 at the end of the reading, but that would have not been able to make them have a clean break, so I get it from a story perspective.
