week 10
Just finished last week’s reading.

Just finished last week’s reading.
Not me wanting to be a giant emperor penguin’s chick now
The thing they are planning at the end seems like a terrible idea with little hope of success (why the heck would that だれか possibly be Honoka’s sister?!), but since it hopefully brings the plot forward, I guess something will come out of it. Right? Right…?
(And I hope they’ll pick up her sister’s trail soon, because right now it’s just Honoka jumping compulsively at any miniscule possibility.)
Also, 門扉 is an unreasonably cute word.
Week 12, ch 4 (1/2), p 213, 88%
One of these days I’ll catch back up
Just do like I do: wait till the final week, and binge read 'til it’s done
Not actually recommended… Tho this is the penultimate week
At this point, I probably will start catching up midweek and then just read the rest of it to finish with the club.
Oh! Are we still gathering noms? (Not like I have any in mind…)
Yes - thank you for the reminder I’ll go update the main post
Yeah, I’ve fallen behind again, just finished week 10, but due to holiday coming up can hopefully finish with the club.
In fact, I probably will, since I just finished chapter 11.
I’m gonna be offline over the weekend, so early reminder that we’re starting the final chapter
Is there a particular break where this week ends and the final week begins? Not that it really matters except to my OCD!
Yeah, it’s this line: 次の瞬間、世界が赤く染まった。 ドンッ!!
(It’s in the home thread. @暁のルナ probably forgot to add it to the weekly post.)
Awesome, I’m currently one page past there so right on time!
Saying this publicly so that I have to do it: my plan is to finish the book by Monday
What have I done
And… done!
I have to admit that I don’t want to write a ton, since I lost more and more interest in the book, but the sunken cost fallacy kept spurring me on
I’m kind of relishing the bittersweetness of the fact that in the end the generator (that was earlier in the thread remarked of as “things we spent time on that quickly became obsolete”!) turned out to be actually quite important, while their whole little adventure (wasn’t that like half of the book?!) had almost no actual point plot-wise.
Yes, it gave a bit of peace of mind for Honoka, and they both got fighting experience. Yes, a foe was vanquished. But all of that wasn’t the point why they set out on the journey. Not only did they not find any sign of Honoka’s sister, they didn’t even reach their destination to confirm that the sister wasn’t there!
At least it’s nice at the end Yuki also got a goal and I am kind of curious how it’ll continue, but considering how meandering this book was plot-wise, I definitely won’t read on. If anybody does though, please spoil me how it continues!
The afterword is skippable. Summary service for @shitsurei:
Also, the audiobook has two 感想コメント tracks by the VAs:
Even if the book wasn’t for me in the end - thanks for organizing the club, @暁のルナ, and thanks to y’all for reading together with me!
Ha! I was thinking of you (or your critique) when the generator came up again
I might come back to the series later. Right now I want to minimize the number if things I read.
I was more into this before they set out for their adventure. It’s just much more interesting for me to read about ||Yuki having survivors guilt than Yuki killing zombies. Also, I’m not sure how much the complaints others had influenced my prescription negatively.||
