Finished スレイヤーズ vol 15 about a week ago, but I’ve also been relistening to the earlier volumes of the audiobooks while I do stuff.
Two more vols to go but vol 15 felt like an ending, so i’ve decided to read those vols some time next month.
I finished BNA ZERO ビー・エヌ・エー・ゼロ まっさらになれない獣たち | L30?? this week, I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoyed the anime, it tells the story of the mayor before the founding of アニマシティー.
Currently reading https://learnnatively.com/series/ae14622a9f/ vol 1, but having read the BNA spin off novel, I now want to read more stand alone books every now and then too. (open to any suggestions 
)
After reading vol 1 of that, I want to start the キノの旅 | L29 series too.
Looking back, I’m so happy with how far I’ve come, how much my reading comprehension has improved, starting all the way back in 2020 with satorireader, graded readers and NHK news to manga and reading my very first light novel at the end of 2022 (kuma bear). In 2023 I really ramped up my reading and 270 books later, I feel like I can pick up most novels and read them just fine like I would in English. (sorry I just wanted to celebrate this win a little 
)
Also, I plan on writing short 読書感想文, to practice my non-existent writing skills! 文章力を上げよう！ I’m terrible at writing in english, so I want to at least write well in japanese to make up somehow

I’m starting on おいしいごはんが食べられますように today.
Interested to see quite mixed reviews of it on Natively, people seem to either love it, or find it quite boring.
Also congrats Psdes

I can highly recommend reading alongside the audiobook, as it helps with understanding who is talking/which perspective you are reading currently (this gave people without the audiobook some trouble from what I remember).

That’s my end goal in Japanese (plus being able to watch SciFi/fantasy anime and panel shows), so hearing that you’ve gotten there is encouraging! Also, huge congrats!!

I finally finished はなまるスキップ 2 | L24 after 8 months. I enjoyed the parody style a lot when reading the first volume, but for some reason I got bored with volume 2. But I didn’t want to completely drop it since the whole series is only the two volumes, so it took quite a while.

Finished Book 1/3 of 1Q84 after a massive hiatus (this version not on Natively 
). I had almost given up on the books, but got the beautiful physical hardcovers recently. Feels like the story is finally picking up, albeit it’s a slow (but enjoyable) grind.

I have surprisingly already reached the 4th chapter of ホテル・ピーベリー
Either the first chapter was just that much bigger or the plot is smoother from the second chapter
Overall I don’t like the characters and I have many issues to complain about that I’m looking forward to compare with cat
The fact that I didn’t look into what this book is about aside from reading 2 sentences out of cats review and discovering it’s a “murder mystery” has me laughing a lot because I would have honestly dismissed it as some kind of weird f-ed up late adolescence story

Finished 紡ぐ乙女と大正の月 4巻 | L29. Really great series with some nice challenge given the setting. The WaniKani Intermediate Manga Club will actually be reading the first volume starting in June if anyone is interested.

Oh I just put that into my Surugaya cart the other day. If I do an order that gets me the book in time I’ll definitely join!

I see they’ve got 鋼の錬金術師 | L30 as their August pick… Might actually feel ready to read that by then… Tho I’d probably just binge the series at that point

FMA? It’s only 27 vols though… (It is taking a lot of restraint not to just order them off eBay rn )… I’m kinda intimidated by the vocab, but guessing it should be fairly comprehensible otherwise, since a lot will be familiar from both anime series.
Decided my next read is gonna be SAO Hopeful Chant | L34, since it’s been sitting around for a while, and SAO 28 is finally coming out next month 
so it should be a good warm-up
