They’re not horror; anything in that direction they have is just vibes. They’re more like adventure games, I’d say.

That’s fairly common in older writing (which is where I learned it). I’m sure @cat and other aozora enjoyers know about it.

I finished the remaining 2 volumes. It gets better as it goes, tho in the end I still didn’t like main couple, and thought the story was trying to be too many different things at once. Definitely won’t get a second read from me, but I could see how others might enjoy it.

After finishing the last two volumes of 紡ぐ乙女と大正の月 | L29 a couple weeks ago, I decided to get back to 星屑テレパス | L24 after a two year break and read volumes 3 and 4 (last published so far). I haven’t been in the mood to get back to こみっくがーるず | L25, so I decided to continue with 社畜さんと家出少女 | L28 instead. That series only has four volumes in total, so I’ll read the last two to wrap that up.
Regarding Comic Girls, I’m torn on what to do with this series. I had read volumes 1-6 a few years ago and then haven’t read the last three volumes. I thought I would reread it from the beginning since it’s one of my favorite 4-koma series, and I did reread the first two volumes a few months ago. But despite enjoying those I feel like I’ve lost steam. I looked at a little of volume 3 and it isn’t catching my interest, but I have good memories of some new characters introduced in volume 4. So I can’t decide whether to push through volume 3 to reread the volumes I really like or just give up on the reread and only read the last three volumes that I’ve never read.
Also, can anyone recommend some comedy 4-koma, especially if they aren’t from Manga Time Kirara? If you have a recommendation from there that’s fine, but there’s a good chance I’ve already read or at least considered it. Other genres in combination with comedy are of course fine, but I’d like comedy to be the main focus.

Can you just skip vol 3 and go straight to vol 4? Otherwise as long as you remember who the chars are, I’d just go to the unread volumes. (I read the recent アネモネは熱を帯びる | L22 chapters today, and spent half the time trying to remember who anybody even was 
think I mostly had it figured out by the end 
)

Just some suggestion on the 4-koma comedy side. I didn‘t read the manga, though, but recently re-watched the anime.

Did some spring cleaning:
- Finally listened コーヒーが冷めないうちに | L28 to the end. It was a drag for me, maybe the “animefication” of the characters was a big turnoff.
- Listened ちょっと今から仕事やめてくる | L26 to try to get more into listening, I’m still not sure if audiobooks work for me but listening to some easy random books I have no strong connection to seems easier to tackle. I tend to stress a lot if I don’t catch EVERYTHING. Now listening to また、同じ夢を見ていた | L23 here and there while walking.
- Read 聖女の救済 | L31 which is the sequel to 容疑者Xの献身 | L31. Did not enjoy this nearly as much.
- Read 52ヘルツのクジラたち | L31. Despite not being my genre of book, it was pretty enjoyable and quite an emotional ride
. - Also trudging along with 1Q84 and continued to 1Q84 BOOK1〈4月‐6月〉後編 | L35, it’s a slow burn, though…
I really also want to read some stuff in English; cue the daily struggle how to balance things…

I have a question
I started listening to the audiobook of the original novel (a.k.a the 悪霊シリーズ) and I they added a warning about 現在では不適切と思われる表現が一部含まれています
did you notice if there was anything like that in the manga or was it censored/changed?
I’m under the impression that I won’t have a proper list or any side notes on any of these 表現 if they appear (in the audiobook at least, if someone has the novel and can check bless you)…
I guess them from whatever knowledge I already have (maybe some will have to do with Lin being chinses, maybe older generation beliefs regarding one group or another etc) but I feel like it’s a bit of a shame since this is an opportunity to both learn some cultural contexts I might be less familiar with, as well as learn some of the “things to be careful about” vocab

As soon as I opened the sample I could tell it was from the same magazine(?) as 乙女男子に恋する乙女 | L25. They are both listed as part of 星海社コミックス, so maybe I should see what else they have.

Hey there! It’s been awhile, but I’m still alive.
I stopped posting because, for the most part, I haven’t read much since the beginning of the year. Busy with job, life, etc. The usual. But I got some of my free time back recently and want to go through more of my backlog soon!
I’ve kept (very) slowly chipping away at 本好き even through the busy months, and I just finished Volume 26 today. I’ve got two more volumes on hand, then I’ll need to pick up the last few to finish out the series! I also sort of started reading ビブリア古書堂の事件手帖 ~扉子と不思議な客人たち~ | L30?? (sequel to the original ビブリア古書堂 series) while waiting at a doctor’s office, but I’m not sure if I want to continue it right now.
According to Natively, I’ve got about 20 random manga sitting around I want to read at some point, plus almost the entirely of 放浪息子 which I bought and then immediately forgot to read. I’ll try to read a couple volumes a week, alternating between different series to keep it interesting. (I really like 放浪息子, but it’s not a very binge-able series to me. I have to space it out with other things.) I read ファイアパンチ 1 | L25, 性別「モナリザ」の君へ。 1 | L22, and 怪獣8号 1 | L28 a few days ago which were all quite decent and very different from one another. Hoping to mix and match like this as I go.
As a side note, the protagonist of 怪獣8号 really reminds me of 佐倉ひろみ from 魔法少女事変 1 | L26, a connection I would never have expected.

Finished 本好き volume 27 today. It was a decent volume. A bit slow, but still better than volume 25. It was nice to finally have some things answered that I’ve been wondering about for a while. Namely, whether エルヴィーラ knew from the beginning that ローゼマイン was a 平民 and how ハルトムート would react to finding out ローゼマイン was a 平民. The answer to both was how I expected it to play out, but I’m still glad it was finally shown.
The cover for volume 28 makes it look like a time skip could happen… which is a bit surprising since it’s not the end of an arc. But I guess I’ll find out soon enough.
