Yes, I saw it on TV. Maybe they also thought, they wouldn’t get as many people hooked by just starting the series normally, as it isn’t that flashy as the usual suspects.

Still working on クラスで2番目に可愛い女の子と友達になった tho (book 3 of 4, tho 5 is out in November), so 青い花 will be my “read as a break” manga, I guess.

Ahh yeah, I could see why they’d be worried about that, given the first ep. Still, that’s extreme! Does watching on TV have commercials during the cuts? Or is it the same as streaming/downloading?
Well, yes, your usual private TV station has CMs, in the middle of an episode i.e. at the “intended” break point. Some also after the opening/review and before the closing/preview. For movies its more complicated.

I just finished 『サバイバルナイト』 which is an hour length indie film - legally on YouTube, the creators run the channel. It has a ‘student project’ air to it which is quite charming, and while it’s not exactly horrifying for a horror movie it was still a lot of fun to watch.
I don’t expect this is or will be on TMDB given the nature of it, but I’d guess somewhere in the 27-29 range having watched it? No JP subs btw.

I’ve been watching short films on youtube (ones I’ve watched so far here, scroll up for ones I haven’t yet) and I feel like this is the best ‘listening workout’ I’ve had in awhile!
The audio quality is often dicey, the short nature means each line of dialogue tends to matter more, and often the type of dialogue seems different than what I hear in TV shows/movies, or perhaps there’s just more diversity in types of speech due to jumping genres every few minutes 
Some, of course, aren’t very good, but a few have been surprisingly delightful. 鏡 and 消えない both had me laughing out loud.

I finally finished ホリミヤ -piece- S1 | L24, and dropped ライザのアトリエ 〜常闇の女王と秘密の隠れ家〜 S1 | L27 (it’s ok, but I haven’t felt motivated to continue). Watched the current 4 eps of 薬屋のひとりごと S1 | L28 (Apothecary Diaries), which is really, really excellent! Have watched 2 eps of 葬送のフリーレン S1 | L30 so far, and I’m on the fence… it’s a little too 癒し系 for me so far, but I’ll probably give it another ep or two. May start ヒロインたるもの！〜嫌われヒロインと内緒のお仕事〜 S1 | L22 next.
ホリミヤ -piece- was exactly like the manga, so I had all the same likes/dislikes, but pushed myself to finish anyway. I’ll probly drop the manga now, even though I’m almost done. I’m burnt out on ホリミヤ at this point, plus the way Hori’s domestic abuse/violence is laughed off kinda soured me on the whole thing (despite the series’ better parts)

I watched episode 6 of セクシー田中さん S1 | L30??
It was nice in the sense that I like the original manga a lot, but the actual belly dancing is quite underwhelming (not much you can do about it, I guess).
Sadly episode 6 isn’t on Natively so I cannot mark it For anyone with more experience with the video side, how long does it take for things to get added to the site? (Natively is 2 episodes behind)

Sorry, I meant I synced it and it now displayed up to episode 7. 
I think episode creation might be automatic for currently airing shows on TMDB, hence why the episode is already available.

Well, it says “not aired yet” and you can’t mark it as viewed which makes sense to me.
Very true, I keep thinking this while watching too…but I guess they had to work with what they had. It’s just funny when the characters are like, “Wow this persons dancing is amazing!” Then we get some silly close ups and long shots of the underwhelming dancing. Still very fun, though.

I really thought they would hire actually belly dancers, especially for 田中さん. She is supposed to be socially inept anyway, it’s not like that requires much acting skills.

Bad acting could = socially inept!
What bothers me slightly more is the fact that all the belly dancing outfits they wear completely cover their torso so there are no bellies! Was it like that in the manga too? I guess the outfit doesn’t need to be so “sexy” for the dance to be powerful and appealing, but since no bellies are showing they’re just kind of moving their arms around and it’s funny.
