I have read some of ぜんぶきみの性, and I liked what they did with the concept of gender, etc. so that gets my vote. (Also, pun in the title? Instant vote.

Since I finished 世にも奇妙な商品カタログ (series) | L23, now comes the question of everytime.
As always the poll might or might not swing me one way or the other.
I also have an upcoming JLPT exam so I might try to go for the hardest of all, or the one that I think it might help me more.

Oooh that’s true! I didn’t realize the next volume was coming out soon! I read along with the club for volumes 1 and 2 (and first chapter of 3)
For sure I want to read all of these at some point, so even if 神さまがまちガえる doesn’t win the poll I’ll try to read it in time for the book club

Looking for something slightly challenging to read over the next few weeks, but can’t make up my mind. Save me, internet!

- 新釈 走れメロス 他四篇 | L45?? (Liked authors other work, and I like the story this is “adapting”)
- 御宿かわせみ 6 狐の嫁入り | L40 (Random book from 1983 I bought by accident, 6th volume in a series I’ve never read. Could be fun.)
- 黒蜥蜴 | L35 (Always love some Edogawa Ranpo, and my friend’s been trying to get me to watch the movie for ages)
- 晩年 | L40?? (Collection of…stories? poetry? by Dazai. Got it because it was relevant in ビブリア古書堂の事件手帖 (series) | L31. Honestly not sure I even can read this, but it you say so, I will try

I voted for 御宿かわせみ 6 狐の嫁入り | L40 because I’m a fan of historical fiction. I’ve read 御宿かわせみ | L40 (book one in the series) and left a review of it; solid three star book IMHO. I don’t expect that dropping into it at book 6 will be too disorienting.

The results are in! Looks like I’ll be starting 新釈 走れメロス 他四篇 | L45?? next. That was probably the safest option in the poll, so I think I got off easy this time. (晩年 returns to its slumber in my my probably-never-to-be-read pile )

After an unimpressive November in terms of reading, I’m now trying to speed up and leave as few unfinished books for next year as possible. I finished two books this week, Medium and 正欲, and now I’m faced with a choice. There are two books (at least) that I want to finish before the year ends, but I also feel bad for my two neglected book clubs, 傲慢と善良 and 月の裏側. I have no idea what to prioritize, please help!
What should I focus on first? (I need to read one book at a time at this point, or I’ll go crazy):
- Finish きつねのはなし (~ 158 pages remaining)
- Finish 穴 (~ 122 pages remaining)
- Catch up with 傲慢と善良 (~ 158 pages including next week)
- Catch up with 月の裏側 (~ 211 pages including next week)

If I could have chosen two entries, it would have been those two indeed
I’d love you to be caught up with us on 月の裏側 because it’s getting more and more interesting the further we proceed, and I need your speculations
But I can also see that it’s a worthwhile alternative to get over and done with 穴. Maybe finish 穴 first and then quickly catch up? Also, maybe I’m getting used to 恩田陸’s writing style by now, but I think 月の裏側 is mostly a quick read. So it’s definitely doable, I think.
