Any chance you can make it multiple selection instead? It gives a fuller idea of ppl’s availability
Oopsie, just fixed it now
Where’d you get them from?
Surugaya. I’m also keeping my eyes out for the original printing of the books because I think those are prettier on a shelf. But less pressing for just getting a copy to read with the club.
Those look nice too though. If anything, I wish the art in the manga looked like that cover art.
Those are cute! Depending on how much I like the series, I might have to look into buying physical copies since I was planning on just going the digital route for now. I think the only physical manga I own is the shinsoban edition of Sailor Moon and Codename Sailor V.
Any chance you could drop links? I’m kinda confused as to what’s what, when I search it there. (Not that I can but things rn anyway, but curious)
They have 3 editions. These are the 30th anniversary ones that look like they’re most likely to be in stock (although looks like #2 is out of stock right now).

If we read the second series they are numbered as 2(1) - 2(3).
Mine are the original 1994 printing, picked up in Book-off twenty years ago for 105 yen a volume:
Second series, 1995 edition; they did the front cover images in landscape for some reason:
Right now we’re sitting at either 9/15 or 9/22 for our start date.
On a different note, should we create a separate home thread for the book club, or just leave it as this thread?
I’d recommend a new one. Could do one thread per volume or one thread per week.
I’d say separate thread, particularly if you feel the chances are good more CLAMP series get read down the line.
My intent is that there will be future CLAMP series after Rayearth, so I’ll go ahead and start creating a Home thread today.
Are there any other points we should discuss about how we want the club to work?
Both versions are great, but I think I prefer the original. Also what a steal on that price!!
I think a final schedule’s really the only thing left, off the top of my head.
I should have clarified before, but are we reading the first three volumes consecutively? So it would be about 9 weeks total to get through the first set.
As opposed to reading other series in between?
I wasn’t sure if it was necessary to have a break week in between each volume.
We can always vote for breaks after we finish a book or two.
It seems like week 5-7 is around where people tend to start dropping out and could use some time to catch up .
