One day, Yuko Yoshida wakes up with horns and a tail and learns that she is the descendant of the Dark Clan that was cursed into poverty by the opposing Light Clan. In order to restore her clan’s honor, she is tasked with defeating the town’s local magical girl, Momo Chiyoda.
Per the discussion in Are you interested in 4-koma manga?, I’m thinking of running a book club for まちカドまぞく | L35. As you can tell from the level, this is a very difficult 4-koma manga. The chapters are only around 8 pages, but they are dense and sometimes include archaic language. I read the first two volumes a few years ago, but dropped it largely due to the difficulty. I wanted to give it another chance and thought reading it with others could be fun and lessen the difficulty.
The basic premise is that high schooler Yuko suddenly has her demon powers awakened and is tasked with destroying the town magical girl, but she didn’t gain any “powers” more than growing horns and a tail. It’s a comedy, but has some story to it as well.

If so, how would you like the book club to be run?
Weekly schedule (probably around 2 chapters per week)
Bumping this, so I don’t forget it exists… Might end up just the two of us (I’m fine if you are). Also I changed my schedule preference to “no schedule”
Okay, sounds good. There’s really no rush to start, so we’ll just start when you think you’ll be ready. I’ll put up a poll for start date later this weekend.
Based on the earlier poll, we’ll go with a scheduled approach, at least for the first volume. We can re-evaluate after that.
I think we’ll go with a schedule of two chapters per week simply because one chapter per week the whole time will take too long. For the first week it’ll be the intro and one chapter.
How should we go from there?
Immediately jump to two chapters per week in week 2 (7 weeks total)
Read one chapter each in weeks 2 and 3, then go to two chapters per week (8 weeks total)
No preference

When can you start reading? (choose all dates you’d be okay with)
August 16th
August 23rd
August 30th
September 6th
Not until later

I may give preference to later dates at my discretion.
I’ll create a thread for volume 1 tomorrow and we can start this weekend. @暁のルナ is there a good template I can follow for book clubs that use one thread for the entire volume? If not I’ll copy something from the WaniKani forums.
Here’s a template version of the current Class S club read, with a schedule added

Feel free to ask questions, share thoughts, etc, just post chapter or pg numbers, and keep things under `[details]` or `[spoiler]` tags, unless they’re general enough that they wouldn’t be a spoiler even for ppl just starting out.
Anyway, looking forward to reading/discussing this with everyone!!
