Enjoy!

Chapter 1:

What happened to Charly? :cold_sweat: Did he not manage to win her back? :flushed:

Chapter 6:

Oh nice, we now get quite some exposure to cologne dialect which is basically what I grew up with, so this gives a nice familiar touch! (If you need help figuring stuff out, please ping me.)

Other than that, Rath is again poking his nose into side affairs, and I wonder how he will get burnt this time aroundā€¦

Edit: Chapter 10:

Yet another side job, it seemsā€¦ Also, he is pretty much the same character as before: Drinking, trying to find ways to sneak around his boss, and being nice to his subordinates. Not too bad, actuallyā€¦ I wonder when heā€™ll break up with Kathi, and when Charly will make a reappearance, as theyā€™re colleagues after all.

So I finally started to listen to the second audiobookā€¦and realized that I have no way to know when a chapter starts or ends or to which chapter I am currently listening to :see_no_evil: (except the book really has 251 chapters - in which the audiobook is divided - which I doubt). Unfortunately David Nathan does also not read the chapter name/number out loud.

Yeah! Thatā€™s what I also thought.
Unfortunately I do not really remember whether they got back together at the end of book one or not :see_no_evil: yeah, my memory is really bad lol
I hope that she will make an appearance later on.

The last sentence or so of book 1 was ā€œand now I only need to convince Charly to get back together with meā€ or somesuchā€¦

Having no chapter markers is really a bummer. The book has quite a lot of chapters but definitely not 251

I finished this book.
Due to the mentioned fact, that there are no chapters mentioned during the audiobook, I unfortunately was not able to post anything while listening to it :pensive:

So, please only continue reading when you finished the book

I quite liked this book. I loved the view ā€œbehind the scenesā€ and the background information about the transition from Stummfilm to Sprachfilm.

What I did not like, is the fact, that Rath gives a damn about what his superiors tell him. Repeatedly  I mean, once or twice it was okay. I guess itā€™s his character. But at the end, when the Buddha (? I canā€™t remember his real nameā€¦when listening to audiobooks, I always have problems remembering names :see_no_evil:) just rebuked him for all his solo stuffā€¦and the very next thing he did is again going on a solo missionā€¦I really wanted to scream at him and tell him, to just confess everything to his superiors and get a team to go to the villa/mension. Ah well, I guess they probably would not have listened to himā€¦but still.

And I am happy, that Charly reappeared! I hope it will work out this time.

I guess I will continue reading/listening to the books. I am invested enough now, that I want to know what will happen to Rath because of his misbehavings. And how the relationship between Rath and Charly will develop. I guess I am even curious whether Rath will keep Kiri (? the dog)

Edit: Happy new year to everyone :clinking_glasses::sparkles::blush:
