So we’re getting towards the end of summer now (), and I wanted to poll interest again for かがみの孤城 | L29.
I cannot for the life of me remember all who was interested. I feel like @mitrac and maybe @soggyboy? but I forget who else… someone had a list but I also forget who that was and I couldn’t find our old discussion by searching the forum. Apologies!
If we can’t drum up enough interest I will probably start it myself sometime in the second half of August, but I was thinking maybe we can do an asynchronous book club where people can comment as they get to the book.
Ah, yes!! I meant to make a thread for this but it slipped my mind. I am interested! I think an at-your-own-pace club might be better than a scheduled club, since it’s a longish book.
So I won’t join. That said, clearly I love this book and highly recommend it. I do want to point out that a lot of people reading at a slowish book club pace (e.g. 15-20 pages per week) found the book to be slow, whereas I originally read it in about 3 weeks and found the pacing to be excellent.
Sure I’m in. I’ll believe it when I see the club actually open so I’ve already started reading it but at a very slow pace. If you open it now I can eventually meet the pacing of the club.
Thank you for bringing this to my attention! I just bought the audiobook and already had the ebook but had been putting it off. It might still be a bit too hard for me but I’ll give it a try.
Technically I’m interested, but since I’m already planning to read Silent Witch volume 2 and 3 as fast as possible as soon as I finish reading 黒猫ニャンゴの冒険 1… probably not any time soon
Definitely interested! I am currently reading this, but only about 8% into the first half of the bunko version. I am hoping to set a decent pace, perhaps 40-50 pages/week.
Would be delighted to discuss the book with others.
よろしくお願いします!
I’m going to be vaguely following along with the discussions, but since it’s an informal club with no schedule I probably won’t relisten to the audiobook.
