đŸ‡ŻđŸ‡” Index List of Book Clubs

@shablul Hope you don’t mind; I re-ordered a few clubs, including the webnovel one, so that everyone would stay alphabetical.

I don’t mind at all! on contraire, hope I didn’t cause a mess! My honest reasoning was “Let me put it where the other Informal clubs are” :joy:
Your logic is much better

edit: btw how come the visual novel isn’t above the w from webnovels though?

another btw I’ve been forgetting to ask each time

since this is pretty much the “official” post relating to all book clubs (in Japanese, while the “other languages” is the overall index), do you think there’s any point in putting a sort of brief definition of what book clubs do or what are informal book clubs? or maybe a link to a post that defines it?
I’ve been wondering ever since I saw more people enter book clubs I’m in recently on whether or not some people hesitate because they’re not sure how it works or what it means in practice

was also wondering if there should be a link to Book club suggestions so that people will suggest new book clubs there rather than create new threads or it doesn’t matter much anyways?

Whoops, you’re right; missed that one.

Both are excellent suggestions! I can set those up tomorrow.

Added a new section for the mystery club, now that it’s also reached that hallowed milestone of having read 10 books. The first book in the new section is, appropriately, the second book in the loose series started by the mystery club’s first read.

And finally added these sections! Honestly they probably should be copy/pasted to other book club index threads, but I’m going to abstain for now.

For anyone reading: please feel free to suggest more Q&As to go into the FAQ section of the home post!

Could someone fix the hyperlinks in the TOC for me? I’m not near a computer atm, and it’s kind of fiddly on mobile. Once the Class S club got added, the links afterwards were not updated, so they don’t jump to their correct section.

Is the TOC even needed with the current layout? The “Headline / Book List details” pairs are so compact and regular that I feel like they are their own TOC already.

I had no idea they needed to be manually updated like that :open_mouth: that’s rather bizarre on Discourse’s part

I’m any case, since I’m the person who added it, I’ll go update them. Sorry about that

I find the ToC helpful, bc I can see all the clubs in a single glance, but if it’s causing a lot of trouble

I fixed them now. In case this is useful for anyone in the future: you simply need to increment the number at the end of the anchor link by 1. Ex: [Horror Club :green_circle:](#p-11659-horror-clubhttpsforumslearnnativelycomtthe-horror-book-club-currently-reading5449-9) - that last part: reading5449-9 becomes reading5449-10

It’s finally happened; took just over a year!

And we’ve just hit our 200th edit. (Missed the year mark by one day!)

Thanks for adding the club!

You’re welcome! I’m sometimes a couple of days late adding, but I do try to make sure everything’s up-to-date somewhat consistently.

@sadgremlin thank you for updating the list for me!! I kept saying I was going to do it and never did, so thank you. I alphabetized it and cleaned it up a bit; I hope that’s okay.

@freddyg it looks like your previous edit broke the images in the table; I won’t be able to look at it tonight, so could you check what may have gone wrong?

@Naphthalene saved the day.

Not yet, I still need to add back your link.
I think it was an issue with the editor? Looking at the raw, a lot of stuff was automatically changed for some reason. I assume it’s because the rich text editor (if that’s what you were using) doesn’t play well with all the formatting hacks being used in there.

Edit: alright, the original link is back in the TOC (but is not a link to the content itself)

Edit2: that being said, before I make any further modification, shouldn’t it go under “informal clubs” anyway? I feel like it doesn’t really have a schedule and is focused only on a single series (my point here being that its “book list” will only have one entry).

Wow nice text editor investigative work there and a teaching moment. I will look for the Informal Clubs list.

Yep, that’s my thought as well. And thank you for investigating with the formatting!
