👷 🚧 Infrastructure Overhaul! Report newly broken functionality here! 🔥 🚒

Not really sure what’s going on here, but when using the searchbar on a page that already has search results, it seems like searches for “Books” that contain certain combinations of katakana characters will bring up results for “Videos” instead. This problem doesn’t happen when using the searchbar from the dashboard.

Just quickly testing some random pairs of characters, ジェ, ジジ, シー, and ズノ do it, but クォ, シジ, チー, and ノズ don’t. Not sure if there’s some common denominator for why it’s only some combinations?

Also, changing the dropdown from “Videos” to “Books” and vice-versa clears the search query instead of bringing up results from the other section.

Edit: Oops, never mind my attempt at reproducing it, I’m just blind. It’s probably less to do with what is being searched or what page you’re on, and more that randomly the search bar will say “Books” in the category and “Videos” in the query.

On the Book and Video tabs on the user profile, both say “Search books” in the internal search bar.

Ok, I’ve fixed this issue now and you shouldn’t get any more bad links from clicking your custom tags. I’ve also added a little filter tag at the top for custom tags, like all the other filters.

FWIW, I haven’t made it more resilient to bad links, but will do. I actually think though moving you to page 1 is the correct behavior. You could make the argument that if you’re at the end of results then maybe you’re interested in the last of those results, but in all other page circumstances, moving you to the first page is much more intuitive and inline with other site’s search behavior too.

Sorry for the delay!

Not sure whether you just lumped together my comments, therefore double-checking: My second report has nothing to do with custom tags, just with sorting. Just in case you missed that one.

Interesting bug here @brandon: I’m on Android Chrome sorting my library, and the filters I’m using show up like this:

The two exclusion tags are custom tags.

I’m seeing it on desktop now, Chrome:

I don’t know if it was working before; I didn’t notice until now.

Clicking on show creator names doesn’t redirect to the search page properly:

ex. click on Hirohiko Araki in ジョジョの奇妙な冒険 Phantom Blood & Battle Tendency | L30 loads the following URL and a 404: https://learnnatively.com/season/5d732b5cfc/[object%20Object]/?q=Hirohiko%20Araki

Another one for you @brandon; I feel like I’ve seen variations of this before, though the issue isn’t usually so persistent. I’m trying to search for a book, but every time I hit enter to search it brings back video results. I can swap back to the book search page, but entering in the same title (千秋, if it matters) just swaps it back over into videos again.

So far I only noticed that the other way around: After searching for a video on the videos page the search field always switches back to books. Interesting that it happens both ways

Sort of connected to the search issue, whenever it occurs the fonts in the dropdown also don’t load properly (default serif instead of sans).

In Firefox, if that matters.

I see another bug; might be limited to this one book.

旅の道づれは名もなき竜 | L24?? is marked as a Light Novel, but it shows up in my library whenever I filter to see only manga:

Edit: I don’t know if this is a bug, but wanted to report @brandon. I created a new list yesterday, but it still hasn’t populated any book covers on the search screen. :<

Just wanted to ping you on this again @brandon; I’ve waited for a bit, but nothing seems to have changed, so the cause may be something other than slow processing.

Thanks for the note! There was indeed a slight bug in the process… now fixed!

Thank you; everything looks good now!

This is new. To me at least. :face_with_peeking_eye:

Edit: It works if I put “all volumes seperately” but not if I want it to show 1 volume only or series.

Got a small issue I just noticed: I marked a manga as as done by updating the Dashboard widget and clicking the “I’m finished” button, but now that I look back at the activity entry, two seem to have been generated, one at the time I marked it complete and one set to midnight of last night:

Yeah seems like every new entry in dashboard now displays several hours back. For me this isn’t midnight - the 11 hours ago here would correspond to about 6 am.

(Edit: the gradings did eventually show up! Leaving the report here in case it happens for anyone else.)

@brandon I clicked the Grade Now button on the dashboard and did something like 20 gradings, but they don’t show up on the activity feed or on one of the book pages. :frowning:

This button here: (it just doesn’t show gradings now because I already did them)

No gradings for 椎名くんの鳥獣百科 1 | L26 shown:

Gradings show for the other two books on their book pages (ホテル・メッツァペウラへようこそ 1巻 | L22 and 赤髪の白雪姫1 | L26), but given how the stats aren’t showing in the other places, I’m concerned they’re not being calculated correctly here. :frowning:

In your gradings list there are entered 7 gradings for 椎名くんの鳥獣百科, though. Sometimes the system is a bit slow for the gradings to take effect, sometimes up to one hour. Now the book changed from 24?? to 26.
