@brandon is a firm believer of Valve Time

This is correct. I do best when the deadline is passed :joy:

I thought I’d delete 2.43 vol 1 off my Fukuiben list and replace it with the series, but when I hit save, it was back to being on there. When I went in to edit again, it was still there, so I don’t think it’s related to caching, or I’d have waited to say anything

This is a fun game. Most of the books I’ve read were either generic Tokyo or generic rural and didn’t really leave a strong impression of place on me. Ignoring the handful of “$LOCATION殺人事件” books, some where I remember the location are:

(Forum URL embedding still flaky I see :frowning:)

I don’t really have the expertise either; I have a few things I’ve been playing around with, but that’s all. Also I’m amused that Classical Japanese Reader And Essential Dictionary | L10?? is “L10”

I think if anything I’d start with a forum thread to see if there’s a consistent group of people interested in sharing information, useful resources, etc. A lot of those are likely to not be things trackable in Natively lists (eg web pages, online classical dictionaries, the NHK programmes for high schools).

Thank you! I already have Kyoto, but I added the other two, and also credited both you and @Biblio in the list description

Aw, I was going to have a recommendation if it was manga…

I don’t read much manga, but actually a similar list with manga might be very interesting, even better, as you also get pictures with manga.

Tourism website confirms it!

I looked up the dunes because I thought only Tottori had them

Yep, I haven’t read the manga, but I did watch the anime and the focus is on adults who are otaku and working/dating. It’s definitely josei.

Understood lol

I highly recommend them!

If you’ll hear me out, there’s a huge focus on Sega gaming to the point where I’d guess the target audience is people who were kids in the 80s. Also, it’s a satire of isekai and common iseaki plots. I could see from the covers though how you might assume that that it is an isekai. The isekai-ing is all flashback (as far as I know).

I’ll take the S in S駅 that’s mentioned in the book to mean 庄内町 then, and will add it to the list. Thanks!

Ah, I see. Hmm, I’d make one myself but I honestly don’t know too many. I watched a video featuring an anime set in every prefecture, but I only remembered one from that list and bought it when I saw a whole set of the series on sale lol.

Yamanashi- ゆるキャン△ (series) | L26
Tokyo- 東京城址女子高生 (series) | L24??
Shimane- 八雲立つ (series) | L24??

It’d be nice to have manga that focus on their settings

I’ll add one to your list:
僕だけがいない街 1 | L30 (learnnatively.com) is set for the most part in Hokkaido.

Ok! Collaborators is OUT.

For instance, if you go to my list: Recommended First Manga | Japanese list by brandon | Natively

I’ve added @eefara and @omk3 as collaborators.

They can now go and edit that list (or should be able to… tbf i haven’t QA this a ton… only automated tests really).

I also included a checkbox for turning off reviews.

And @Megumin that series image bug should be fixed now i think?

Edit: Oh yeah, and you add collaborators in the edit list form via a new user search input. Collaborators cannot delete lists, but they can delete items. They can also remove themselves and others but not the creator. The lists should also appear on your profiles.

So, i’m pretty sure it’s working well, but please help me QA as usual

Collaborators, yay! Thank you!
I can see my avatar in the tiny drop down like in your screenshot, but I don’t see an edit button anywhere, like I get on my lists.

Right, I just realized that… you can go directly to the edit page by adding /edit… will add that button

Perfect. Added one to your list to test, and it went smoothly (it’s also a legit recommendation, so you may choose to keep it, or not, as you wish). Not sure if we’d like to show which entry was made by whom. I’m thinking probably not necessary.

For the time being I’d say no. Lots of things to do!

I tend to agree, it overcomplicates things for no reason. If someone wants to sign their entry, they’re free to do so in the description after all.

Should be good to go now! I also do see the list in your profile.
