Vol 1 general feelings

The main character remembers that he was a princess in last life; he uses magic and with that verifies that his memories are real, but war magic in 21 century (as well as royal mindset) is not gonna do him any good, so he resolves to live like the guy he is now, falls in love and gets a girlfriend as well as some friends.

It’s just as fast paced as I remembered. One thing is happening after another and already in the middle of volume one I see that I have no idea what this story will shape up to be.

Group isekai/reincarnation into the modern world? What? Do we do that? Haha I am very excited! Also the drawing style seems to have been updated between chapter 0 and chapter 1. Looks better immediately (or is it just my perception?)

It’s a bit hard to differentiate between some characters (Zeze and the other blond guy, Takao and Kamioka, but I hope I’ll get used to it

I like the idea of taking these, but it takes me a lot of time so I’m not sure if I’ll keep up with it.

Groups of people mentioned: ゼレストリア (Veronica’s side), モースヴィーグ (the attacking army), the church (neutral side)

Magic system: Veronica learned when she was a child from the head of a monastery (修道院) that she lived in until she was 14, but didn’t use it as magic is basically a war weapon and royalty doesn’t use it directly.
Seems like church is doing a ceremony after which spirits make contracts with people and then they could use magic. It may be only for royalty but the fact that a type of magic (live blood one) was limited by the church and not many people used it in Veronica’s time makes it sound like church has some serious influence on magical everything.

It’s a class society so the type(s?) of magic that a person uses is determined by their social status (comonnners don’t have it)

Main character: 皆見 (Minami) 晴澄 (Harusumi)
Past life name: ベロニカ
Role: Princess (third in line of throne succession) of ゼレストリア

A girl he becomes friendly with in middle school: 上岡 (Kamioka). Bob cut, lolipops.

The girl that looks like Kamioka with long hair that we see in chapter 1 is:
Name: 高尾 (Takao) 春湖 (Haruko).
Previous life: リダ (Rida) (from ラザラサーレ家)
Role: Veronica’s personal guard

The girl on bottom here (Takao’s friend) is 広木 (Hiroki) 悠 (Yuu) - the one that looks the coolest - and the cute girl feeling sick from seeing magic - 百花 (Momoka)

Dark haired guy (that stole the notebook):
Name: Midou Ryuuji
Previous life: ジャレッド・フロリオ
Role: a priest sent to Zerestoria

There was also Zeze that was next to Minami when a ball hit him, but I think he went home early and missed the rest of the fun here

The culprit is Tsuzuki (a knight apprentice on Veronica’s side experiencing shell-shock), no point in taking a screenshot to remember his face until he buys new glasses.

Hiroki seems to be important too. Beautiful at least.

Volume 1 thoughts

I totally did not realize this is an isekai into the normal world instead of into an medieval world when I was checking the series before to see if I was interested So this came by surprise but I must say I might get hooked.

As @Kroki mentioned to me before, you don’t have the isekaied-into live but also a lot of the memories from before and how they are interwined. I find this really refreshing and fascinating. Also like 皆見 got their memories back fairly early and had more time to adjust then the suddenly awakened peers and friends from school. It’s interesting how they react differently like 皆見 in primary school expecting that this was normal and everyone remembered their previous life, or Tsuduki who forgot he was in the 21st century and behaved like in war.

I remember in the beginning it would be nice if more people awakened but didn’t expect this to be so many at the same time! Right now they all seem to be on ベロニカs side but I’m sure there will also be enemies. Hopefully not on the direct friends.

Also interesting to see will be how 高尾 and 皆見s relationship will develop, if, and how everyone will see their peer and friendships now.

I also suspect ゼゼ and 広木 to get their memories back and somehow I think 広木 might have been a guy before. And then we would have two people that changed gender. Looking forward to getting some content or feelings on this as well. Might have been struggling for 皆見.

And same here, @Kroki, that I also find it difficult to distinguish between some characters. As for 上岡 I was so confused when 高尾 appeared But maybe that is the reason for the haircut style change to not have two with almost same style?

And then Takao proceeds to play basketball (Kamioka was/is in basketball club too like come on) to make sure I stay confused forever
I’m gonna assume Minami has a type.
Takao seemed softer/maybe more feminine than Kamioka but now that she’s 99% Rida I can’t use that to differentiate them…

Volume 2 thoughts

Uwaaah, Hiroki really was a guy before. First I thought might be nice, if she was the guy Veronika is searching for, but somehow now I don’t think so anymore.

Hehe, that was fun in the beginning that they all were together at the Karaoke bar but wanted to keep it a secret. And that we had the first encounter with someone from the other country.

I really like how the author can mingle those two realities together.

What was talking to Minato the other night? Was this a せいれい? But I thought that those fairy tale ghosts were all good mannered. This one feels scary. Especially with finding all the characters in the school next day and more people to regain their memory. If I understood it correctly it’s mainly their class.

I have just opened vol 2 and wow the author is so kind! (Or possibly very self aware of how reading mystery like this usually goes)

I don’t need to take any notes at all. The story&characters page in vol 2 has a good side-by side of characters and it even mentions how magic works. As I have read it once ages ago I went ahead to check how this section looks like in the future and oh boy it is great

P.S. I find non-furigana “previously” section in full-furigana manga to be pretty cruel, but it is very good for learning. If I don’t skip it out of fear

Vol 2 (thoughts while reading)

Zeze should get a raise or a referral bonus. All 30-something of his classmates now have his workplace as a cheap rest area to do whatever

Hiroki is the best Veronica Look at her, she’s so damn cool since the very beginning.

Harusumi&Takao dating has turned into a 名目 to stay together lol. Getting a girlfriend in volume one was indeed too good to be true.

Hiroki mentioned 67 people in the castle + i assume attacking Moswick soldiers? - we do have a chance of having all first years in that school to be reincarnations, not only their class ← scratch that, the school seems bigger, but it sounds like enough people for 2 classes (though only theirs is mostly missing on the assembly)

(Assuming everyone died because of that magic light pillar thing)

Damn poor Kamioka. She got attacked by magic in school and got admitted to hospital and left all alone for the night . Minami should’ve sent her a goddamn message to at least tell her everything is fine now.

To be fair to Minami I’m reading this as a magical fantasy thing so like yeah people are gonna fight, what’s the problem. …there is a problem.

Glen was a very pretty boy, but how would you tear off your earring like that… His explanation explained nothing to me.

Sorry, did we just hint that that evil-looking dark cloud of thoughts around Minami is actually the voice of the spirits?

I just love how for the second time in two volumes MC makes a decision (live a normal life and now to not tell other people) but the story is already out of his control and things happen anyway.

Veronica had no personal boundaries and no shame even by the previous life standards awesome

Also I enjoy what is happening to sort of genders/relationships here as a result of reincarnation plot~

Another P.S.: oh my God that extra pages with what’s “currently” sold in Zero-Sum. Wild adapter, Saiyuuki, Loveless, Amatsuki, Dolls, Are you Alice? (Drama CD was way better than that manga), Carnival. What a nostalgic line up.

Vol 3

Takao we can all see you’re relieved Hiroki is Bart and not Glen. I think it’s another instance of the previous volume where she’s both insecure about their relationship (“let’s go back” “to being friends?”) and very conscious of Veronica’s last life relationships (aka the person Minami would like to see).

Wow that poor guy that tried to use hierarchy to flip his shit position only to find out he wasn’t important in the previous life either

That ~~prick~~ priest is so unlikeable for me I can’t. It’s the kind of person I couldn’t survive a conversation with. He’s so self-important, is giving out orders and makes decisions for everyone but bro, do you know what happened then or how this is happening now? Care to explain?

He said for everyone in the room that “no-one here knows the reason” (a bit sus) but if it’s true then none of the people in the castle from any side knows why the war happened. Lovely.

I do like that people are suspicious of Minami. And it is also infuriating (knowing the truth) and realistic for people to dismiss his opinions as he remembers “less than them”

24 people with memories (+Zeze +Minami) out of 67. Are we gonna get more?

One of the priests was the attacker? WHICH ONE? I want to go back and check for hints in clothes, there might’ve been something. Also who was where. Also anything. But no, I’ll stay put and let the author tell me.

Also is this supposed to be the most transparent hint in the history of hints? Seems like a very deliberate bubble placing:

Volume 4

Those 5 seconds I thought a guy lost a hand because of magic were… Scary.

This volume was very packed with action. I couldn’t stop at vol 3 and continued right until the baby Veronica&Carlo flashback because Things Kept Happening.

I love small facts like the fact that something about Nanami’s voice is so clear it’s both easy to identify and makes people listen to him. I wish it helped his shit middle school life

I wonder if Nanami did mean to make that one guy a bait or was he just brainstorming…

Yanuma is going through it, part 2. I thought we’ve already covered he wasn’t that important. Well, at least I learned his name for the duration of this volume.

Seeing magic in action in the real world is a bit… Scary. One wrong move and we’re looking at some serious permanent damage

Veronica/Nanami conflict resolution skill is i just adore that kid. Everyone is freaking out and he doesn’t realize how much impact he has.

Those kids can’t get a break… From a life-or-death fight with Yanuma straight into a landslide…

And I think we’ve been “hinted” that priests have healing magic (that we have previously established doesn’t exist).

I need to think if I ship Moto/Hiroki or not. I like Hiroki a lot (in this volume she’s sort of not in Nanami’s side but that makes sense for her as a character and I like to see it).

The fox thing is probably an introduction to how the church thinks and why they didn’t help.

I so very much agree! Though he claims to be from the church, he seems to be the most enemy-like person. Also I wonder, was his current’s person personality also like that? It seems as he wholely transferred to being the person of his previous live

I also stumbled across this. Really wondering who Zeze is and alao who Kamioka is. Is somebody from them Glen? Or did Glen did not get isekai’ed because he killed aebody with magic before who tried to harm Veronika? (All my own loose thoughts)

Good that they were able to play basket ball, have some fun and we don’t have Moswick vs Serestoria war breaking out at school right now.

Yeah, but this landslide was also created on purpose by someone else with magic, right? I remember Takao mentioning like she heard magic. Is this the person they are already searching for? Is this the person from the last scene? Is this Zeze? With so much action it feels like Zeze might be a betrayer but I sincerely hope he isn’t.

Agree. I wonder if the reason with the fox is the same they don’t use this healing magic

I wonder if some part of personality is bleeding through to this life even before the memories come in. n the same way that you made Hiroki probably before or right as her memories started to come in.

My natural reaction was to immediately think about Yanuma and scream (internally) “we don’t??” Yeah, I need more slice of life to remind us what Minami is trying to protect.

We even saw a suspicious shadow for a moment there~
