I would have failed that saving throw. Seems like an interesting book

You ended up getting a book on the way to the airport! :joy: I love it!

Post-unpacking: clearly I should have bought that one last book to fill in the corner spot…

It looks like you could easily cut the second book from the top left into a 上 and 下 to fill in

Yes, that author’s books are silly large (makes them easy to spot on the shelves). It does demonstrate that the page count of a bunkobon (and the choice to split into multiple volumes) is largely a convention, not a physical limit.

New stuff~ First up is a physical copy of キラキラとギラギラ 1 | L22; I’ve got the rest of the books coming in a second order. Next is トーマの心臓 | L24??; I specifically looked for a non-bunko version of this. I’m ready to read whenever you are @pm215~

Where did you find it? Cuz that’s also on my list. Reminds me, I wanna find non-bunko versions of my 池田理代子 manga too… But no rush on that

Are y’all doing a book club? If so, I’d be down to join

Yahoo Japan Auctions in this case.

We’d be doing so over here!

I’m now back from Japan so I don’t have any particular scheduling constraints – feel free to set a schedule that works for you and anybody else who’s up for reading along, and I’ll be OK with that.

Unfortunately for my wallet, I had occasion to stop by Book-Off today

Thankfully I will not have occasion to go to Book-Off anytime in the next few months. I probably wouldn’t have bought any of these, if I was buying online

星屑テレパス is a good choice! It’s one of my favorite 4-koma.

I flipped through a few pages at random, but it looked on the easier side for a 4koma? Tbh half my interest in it is to see just how much the yuri is/isn’t (I know it’s MKR, so I’m going in with no expectations)… But either way it’s been on my wishlist for ages, so I figured I’d grab it

It is for the most part. The exception is when it goes into the details of building model rockets.

I just realized there’s no tag for this on the natively page, though I’m not sure it’s a common enough topic to bother adding a tag.

Good to know

Reminds me of that “girls building plastic gundams” manga HGに恋するふたり 1 | L22 … Maybe it would make sense to have a “building things” tag? I just added a mecha tag to the one I mentioned… Which is arguably kinda off, since it’s a genre tag… but there’s no other useful tag I could think of, for actually finding that book

If anything it seems more useful to add a tag then.

Do you think I should go with “Model Rockets” or “Rockets”?

I like the broader Rockets tag personally. Not to make it more complicated, but…

If you want it to be potentially grouped with things prominently featuring rockets (like 下町ロケット | L34 or ロケットガール | L30?? or ロケットGメン 藤子・F・不二雄大全集 | L20??), and vice versa, I’d go with Rockets.

If you want to limit it to model rockets specifically, then Model Rockets. (Idk if this would show up when just typing “rockets” though).

If you want it to include other types of model building (like the Gundam one I mentioned), then “Models” or “Building Things”. (Tho idk how intuitive building things is). Edit: if you use models and include “rockets” as an example on the tag blurb, it should come up when you type model or rocket

Honestly, I feel like something like “crafting” or “hobby building” would be a good tag(s) to have. Like crochet is not model building… but it’s also not not model building, imo…

Hmm that’s a good point… Tho personally I didn’t think of crafting, when looking for the Gundam or rockets thing.

There are apparently Handicraft and Pottery tags already. And the handicraft one does appear when I type craft - so not sure a new one is needed there
