I think of these as kind of a “full height obi” – you can see in that last image that they’re not necessarily quite the complete height of the book.

Has anyone ever seen the ebook version of 科学探偵 vs 学校の七不思議 ever go on a big sale? This is the first time I’ve seen it on even a small sale. I already have the physical version, so I can’t bring myself to pay >800 yen for a digital copy of a book that I have already bought… Any tips to find a digital copy of this for cheap? (I just want the ebook to extract a word list)
If you use bookwalker, they often give you free coins or coinback stuff… at the moment they have a (up to) 500 Yen off coupon for Friday.

What the heck. Just to update, I found out that bookwalker doesn’t let you download the books you buy…!? So I did not buy it, because I only wanted an ebook version to download and compile the vocabulary in the first place… Back to the drawing board.
You can download them with the app, but just like every other app, you need to read them in-app. Ppl haven’t come up with a method to circumvent their DRM (unlike Amazon ppl have figured out how to convert them to ePub files - which is what you’d want for this sort of thing).
Can’t help on the price bit tho, sry

I’ve seen some downloaders that require you to flip through every page in order to grab the images from the website. It’s been a long time but a Google search should find some. They were just code in ppls GitHub iirc.
