But then you would no longer be able to read books offline. Would they risk this feature regression? It would also mean that the battery will be empty faster.
They can move to the same model they use with Audible. You can have downloads & offline support without exposing the files to the user. Spotify and Apple Music also work this way, why not books?

It’s rare enough to get free light novels to note. Some fan service in the color pages, but, honestly, it’s nowhere near the worst I have seen. I looked at the blurb and it doesn’t seem particularly relevant to my interests, but hey, it’s free.
The first volume of the manga is apparently free as well.

I don’t know if it’s booklive exclusive (Edit: it’s also on Bookwalker, haven’t checked Amazon), but a light novel label has their stuff 50% off (first volume only, the rest is like 20~30% off) for the next two weeks. It includes 黒猫ニャンゴの冒険 | L29 which was pretty good (although around the second volume, the author seemed to not know what to do next which made me drop the series). The main character is pretty much a cat, for bingo purposes.

It’s graded as an easier LN series at L28.

I looked at the top review on Natively:
This story is pure wish fulfilment for a rather young male audience, probably around 12 y/o. Nothing wrong with that, but the further away you are from this demographic, the less you might enjoy this book. The story is 100% predictable, the characters are all entirely one-dimensional and many times their reactions to what is happening makes no sense at all.
Sounds like ¥99 too many

Honestly, at this point anything that’s not a middle school romance sounds like a good read to me

It is! I finished looking at the list, and there’s pretty much nothing that strikes my fancy. Maaaaybe うちの娘は少しおかしい - 第616特別情報大隊/水あさと - ラノベ・無料試し読みなら、電子書籍・コミックストア ブックライブ and a couple of 悪役令嬢 stuff, but meh. I did like the one book I posted about, though.

There’s another Harta Comix sale at both Bookwalker and Amazon. The first few volumes of a number of series (depending on length) are ¥33 each.
Notable series on sale are ダンジョン飯, ハクメイとミコチ, 魔女のエデン, but I know we have a few Harta readers here who can also tell us about any other must reads

The publication date of this volume #4 is before the three books that are currently on Natively. Seems that the books on Natively is a publication in three volumes of these four volumes, as the three ones also have more pages.

60% coins back for most Kadokawa books on Bookwalker until April 24. I don’t think I’ve ever seen 60% before.
This includes manga, novels, sets, the works. Some of them are also on sale. Here’s the link to the novels/light novels that are on sale and get the 60% at the same time.
For example, I haven’t read this, but I remember it was nominated for the Horror club back in the day. For a 10-volume set I think the price of 2840 yen (without tax) and 1704 of them back as coins is a great offer for anyone interested.
