Yesterday listening was good for my crocheting (I picked it up for the fist time in a while) and today while listening to the podcast I finally went through the paper stack from 2022 to throw things out. Audio materials make me so productive

Sadly, I’m not going to be able to clock in nearly insane hours you lot are able, with 9h shifts every day of the audiothon, but I started now 
.
I’m going to try to aim for a couple hours at least.

Finished 星の子 | L28 while out on a walk. 2 stars. 
This would have been a good short story/novella but it was just too long for what it is, imo.
My phone almost ran out of battery before the book was finished, but it held onto 1% for like 30 minutes. 
Snack: cinnamon roll from the Swedish yellow-blue furniture store.

Alright, my initial objective was to clock at least 2h, since I have big shifts and overtime. Finished the morning session, I might do some time after work before sleep, if not I’ll try tomorrow morning before the 24h run out.
I’m reading along the audiobook, so I’m limited on the environments too.

I haven’t been able to do any listening today so far, and idk that I’ll be able to do any more before the end of my time frame for the audiothon. France (or well, Western Europe really, between France, Spain, Portugal and Scotland) is burning right now, with a lot of my family members living right next to the fire in Gironde (my grandparents and cousins have already had to evacuate), so I’ve been having a really hard time focusing. I’ll see if I manage to focus enough to do any listening whatsoever in the next few hours, otherwise I’ll end this with the few hours of listening I did yesterday.

I’ve got some CI Chinese videos I can do without subtitles, but if I watch anything else I’d need English, and I’m considering counting that anyway. @monace says it’s up to listener discretion in the rules, and I’m usually such a poorly-motivated listener I’d rather have the carrot of listing it in a Natively table rather than the stick of not.

My opinion is that the goal of the audiothon is to listen to your TL(s) as much as possible. If you need NL subtitles to do that, more power to you, it’s really hard to listen to a language when you’re an early beginner.
If you can watch videos without subtitles but you don’t feel like making the effort at that time and just want to rely on subtitles without trying to understand the audio, I feel like that’s a different approach. But again, as long as you feel like you’re challenging yourself with the audio, I’m not here to police anyone!

Made myself an iced mocha and listened to 銭天堂’s first chapter 型抜き人魚グミ and realizing how much sight plays a role in my ability to read lmao. I was able to follow along in broad strokes (partially because I read it several years ago) but lost the finer details, even at 70% speed. Yes, the listening vectors in Renshuu are very necessary 
Think I’ll switch to a beginner podcast (e.g. teppei) for a bit so I can listen and get some chores done. I need to find something like teppei for Korean and French…
Going to track time in broad strokes since the podcasts are short and I’m too lazy to list out each episode with time.

Closing up my own audiothon before I forget to post the last update:
I finished watching 맨 끝줄 소년 Limited Series | L29 (4 stars, I liked it. If you like a cast of characters that are all unlikeable, you might like it too. The ending got 1 star off though, but nothing too bad.)
I also had an italki lesson that lasted for 45 minutes, I’m counting 20 minutes of it as listening.
In total: 5h41, which is nothing too impressive, but it is still more than I did in all of the month of June, so hooray!
I wish I could have spent more time listening to my audiobook, and I wish Yumi’s Cells was available to continue, but now I have content to look forward to 
Edit: I counted wrong and it’s actually 6h!! Fantastic.

After getting my daily dose of endorphins via watching
I caught up with the latest season of 本好き. They changed opening and ending from episode 13 onwards… not that they are bad, but I really liked the first ending.
I think I will now go back to listening to an audiobook while building some lego.
BL tax just because this kiss was delightful and I have to share the happiness.

I’ve started Audiothon at 19:40.
So far I was listening to podcasts for 2h 11m, with past daily news at India and 2 episodes of My Indian Life. I’m kind of happy with how much I understand things.
